Dessert party when Wishes is cancelled

We have the dessert party booked this Sunday. Assuming Isaac continues towards Florida and hits on Monday, I'm guessing we'd be feeling the rain on Sunday. If they cancel Wishes, do they also cancel the dessert party? I believe this is one of those reservations that I had to pre-pay and was wondering how they handle this.

The latest forecast track I saw from last night showed that by Sunday Isaac could be near the Bahamas or south of Cuba or anywhere in between. I doubt you'd be seeing any related storms by Sunday night in central Florida. None of Florida was even in the "cone of uncertainty" as they call it, from here to Sunday night.

I'd still like to know though what happens with the Dessert party should Wishes get cancelled. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Did you try the dining questions phone line? They may be your best bet and now that BOG is no longer holding up the lines, you should be able to find it out quickly. They should also be able to tell you what happens as far as if/how the money gets refunded or what other options there are.

Hope you find out and that your party doesn't get cancelled!

Fireworks are not guaranteed for the dessert party. So nothing happens except there would be no fireworks. That is a VERY rare occurrence.

Just a bump for this topic ...... we have tics for Tuesday night, which may or may not be rainy. If Monday is a deluge of rain and Tuesday looks the same, I would probably cancel out our reservations. Is the Dessert Party on a 24-hour cancellation policy so I'd need to cancel by Monday night? Thanks!

Can't say about cancellation because of the weather but last year, we had to cancel the same day because my GF got very sick (she stayed in the room for the entire day). Cast member were very helpful and we were able to cancel with no charge. It was refund on the credit card that we used for the reservation.

Sorry, my trusty link is broken, BUT....

Quote:
There are no refunds if the fireworks are cancelled due to the weather and walk-ups will be accept on a first-come, first-serve basis if advance reservations are not sold out.
If Wishes is cancelled, which is EXTREMELY RARE, and the park is open, the party will go on.

Now, if the weather gets so bad the park actually has to close, I am sure you would get a refund, but that won't happen.

I can't tell you how they handle the dessert party, but I do know that if they cancel a special event like this while you are on the trip, they go out of their way to try to contact you, and they don't stop until they actually reach you.

Good to know...thanks for asking

We're going later in October but it's nice to know these things just in case. I read once about the weather really messing with MNSSHP one night and the parade was cancelled as well as the fireworks but the park remained open so there were no refunds. I guess in that case we better pack our ponchos and rain boots if a storm is brewing when it gets closer to our vacation date. LOL

If you check you reservation confirmation, the information about cancellations is included, however PPs are correct that Wishes isn't guaranteed.
