Ok, before I forget again, you look fantastic! I kept meaning to tell you that then I would get all wrapped up in your TR and forget!

Love the merchandise pics....and to you for having restraint! I have none, zip, nada....zilcho!!!

I don't like any kind of foreshadowing....I've found it's usually something bad

Haha, that's okay!

The comparisons between Americans and Europeans come mostly because of my Mom being from Europe. She raised us with a lot of European tendencies, so we're like hybrids.

Awwww, thanks Jacquie. I still have a long way to go, but hey it took me this long to gain all the weight, so clearly it will take me a while to lose it.

I had to have restraint because this trip was two weeks! I couldn't spend all of my money in DLRP! I would then go another almost two weeks with nothing left.

The foreshadowing isn't scary. It's more funny than anything else.

I finally thought to catch up on this TR, and I'm so glad I did! DLP is on my bucket list; I'd really like to visit it someday (if airfare every goes below a grand RT!). And here you've got great pictures!

I love the Kinder Bueno as well; I always order some from my german website when I order candy from them. Soooo good. That reminds me, time to put in an order.

I would love to see that HM!

You're lucky; your parents look like they're a LOT of fun to travel with!

I'm glad you're glad.

You're so right, airfare has to drop below a grand RT before you can even consider flying. It just gets so crazy. What I've found is that it would work more in my favor for international travel if I just found a flight, said "okay" about the time frame and then booked it. Flights are always so much cheaper when I'm NOT planning on going.

I love the Kinder stuff. Always have, I just love finding newer stuff that I haven't tried before.

My parents are a lot of fun. My Dad can definitely be a bit on the crazy side though.

Mmmmm I love kinder bueno! My German introduced me to them. One time we all went to a bulk food store and bought a box of bueno bars. It was the best two and a half days ever.
LOVE the Paris Disney merch! Especially the little Mickey necklace!

I love it too and I soooo want one right now.

The Disney Paris stuff was so great. I just wanted to buy everything. I was proud of myself for showing so much restraint.

:)

I have to say I just love your parents!

The merchandise looks adorable. I usually just buy a sweatshirt. I love my comfy Disney sweats for the weekend. At $54 for one it's usually my only treat. Love the t-shirt you bought.

As for Kinder we have a World Market here so we get them from time to time.

What is that you are standing in outside HM?

Haha, my parents are pretty great, I have to say. They definitely keep things entertaining.

I don't buy clothing too often because I can't wear it at work, so I'd be stuck wearing the stuff on the weekends only. So I buy things that I really love. But I agree, Disney mercy is so highly priced.

They took our World Market away in my area. A depressing and sad state of affairs.

Outside of Phantom Manor is was like a tomb thingy. I thought it was pretty cool so I hopped in.

Love the shopping pics. What gorgeous necklaces-I don't know that I'd have been able to resist.

Your poor dad. He must be really, really good spirited to shop all evening.

Ooooohhh foreshadowing....

Another great update! Love the DLP merchandise - and good on you for showing restraint! I'm afraid my wallet is going to take a major hit when we go... I think my Dad will be in a similar situation to your Dad too

Oostende. Lived there all my life. I did study in Ghent and last year I studied in Antwerp. Oh and I'll be moving to Cardiff in January. But Oostende will always be home base I guess.

I do have to say that being Belgian and learning English is easier (sound and pronunciation-wise) than the other way around.

And the kids that used to make fun of you in school were just stupid. Remember I used to say that all the time when I was younger? And my response to anyone who likes to make fun of accents is "and how many languages can you speak?"
You speak backwards? Eheheh. I have to remember that one for when I'm teaching again.

And that is the best response ever. Puts them right in their place

Oh yes, the Bueno is so much better. I don't like the Délice at all.

Your dad is hilarious. Seriously. More more more please!

Had to chime in and say that they took the World Market by us away too. I think many of them closed.. Ugh! I miss it...

Glad you like "healthy" European size portions - I always worry Americans will feel ripped off in Europe given our food prices/size ratios. Mind you, in the US we struggle to eat more than 2 meals a day, and if we've had a big evening meal will often just have a pastry for breakfast.

We're not big fans of late eating - which suits us as we can get our food before everyone else But we've also found at DLP having a big breakfast in the hotel means we can have a late table-service/buffet lunch (about 2pm) and just a snack in the evening.

I do regret (only a tiny bit), not buying one of them, but I really had to conserve my money for the remainder of the trip. It would not have been wise to spend it all in one place. LOL.

He wasn't good spirited.....he just knows it's inevitable.

Definitely bring enough money to buy things, because their merchandise is great!

Aren't most Dad's in that situation with shopping?

I have a theory that most people who speak another language will learn English easier than we will learn yours. My Mom says it's because we're pretty simple.

Yes, we do speak backwards. That's why I NEVER translate anything in Dutch literally, because in English it just sounds bizarre. Hence, we speak backwards.

My Dad is hysterical and will be seen throughout the ENTIRE trip taking ridiculous pictures.

I agree, I think a ton of them closed. It was a depressing day for us when ours did. And what did they put in it's place? A Ross. Boo.

I love the portions! Seriously, I am a direct result of the portion size in America, needing to lose a bit of weight. It's a sad state of affairs here today.

My Mom never had us eat late either, so we didn't grow up that way, but I definitely noticed how pronounced it was when we were there.

I always adore MeMom's merchandise pictures, and I seriously thought of her when I was there taking the pictures. I didn't get the details she gets, but it was fun.

Thanks, I love that shirt too!
