Can't wait to hear about Fultons. The reviews haven't been great lately and I used to love it there!

After enjoying the morning at DTD, we were famished and ready for one ADR I'd booked in spite of some less than stellar reviews. After some confusion at the podium as well as continued confusion while we were escorted to our table, we finally reached a nice table upstairs with a lovely water view. We then waited for our server...and waited some more...and some more. Finally, she arrived, and I must say, I felt very sorry for her. She seemed completely overwhelmed and looked like she was trying very hard.

We placed our orders and she brought us our beverages (mine in a dirty glass covered in globs of old, dried crusty food). Since she dropped it so quickly and then was gone, I couldn't even ask for a new beverage in a clean glass.

We started our meal with the portabella mushroom fries.

Not fries at all, but they were good. They were certainly heavy on the grease, but the tangy mustard sauce they were served with helped to balance things out.

Here is another view. Yum! We enjoyed these, even though we waited about 30 minutes for them to arrive.

We still hadn't seen our server again, and after sitting for another half hour or so, we were served our lunches.

For the main course, my DP chose the fish tacos. This photo was taken after she had already eaten one whole taco; it was originally served with three.

She enjoyed this and said the tacos were overall satisfying and nicely seasoned.

I ordered the dungeness crab leg meal from the dinner menu. Now I love dungeness crab legs, but we don't have a lot of opportunities in Denver to enjoy them, so I was especially excited to try these.

Unfortunately, they proved very disappointing. (Again, I had eaten a few bites, but the portion was pretty much as you see it here, as was the plating.) The presentation was not great, and there were some dry, plain boiled potatoes rolling around on the plate with my crab legs. The crab itself was very dry and seemed overcooked or old. Probably both.

When it came time to pay the bill (and by now we had seen our server who had checked in once during the now 2 hours we had been here), there was no improvement in the experience. She took forever to deliver our check and after we handed her our credit card, she disappeared and was gone another 20 minutes.

The whole experience was disappointing, and we don't feel like we need to eat here again. We should have heeded the warnings we read here on the dis boards.

Another important tidbit of information-Fulton's is docked on the water at DTD, and if you dine here on a blustery day as we did, you will likely feel the ship rocking back and forth. This gave me the slightest bit of a queasy feeling during the first part of our meal, but I seemed to get more used to it as the meal progressed.

We spent the afternoon in DTD doing some shopping and eventually worked up enough of an appetite for a little snack.

Here it is, our "little snack."

This came from the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and was delicious! It was a hodge-podge of one of their sundaes on the menu as well as a few substitutions we had made. Unfortunately, I didn't write down exactly what it was, but you get the idea.

Yummy, sugary-sweet goodness in a little silver dish.

We spent the later part of the afternoon back at our resort swimming (had to burn off some of those lunchtime and mid-afternoon calories!) and then the evening in Epcot.

The park closed and we took a bus back to POR, hoping to get back in time to grab a quick bite at the Riverside Mill again, since we'd missed our earlier ADR at Boatwright's.

We made it back in time, and I decided to go for something a little "lighter" considering the indiscretions of earlier in the day.

This was my create your own salad full of all sorts of tasty bits and veggies.

My DP enjoyed the leftovers we'd taken back from Sanaa the night before. I will spare you the pictures of leftover half-eaten saucy Indian dishes.

She enjoyed the leftovers even more the next day, feeling that the spice had grown even hotter while the food was sitting in our little hotel room fridge. My salad was good, nothing to write home about but not bad either. At least I fell asleep feeling I had redeemed myself, even though my salad was full of crispy wonton noodles, ranch dressing and two varieties of cheese!

I'm joining in!

My family just returned from a week on the DxDP and it WAS way too much food! We had a blast, enjoyed most of our treats, but we were so full, all the time!

There are so many things we have on our list to do next time we are NOT on a dining plan...like Ghirardelli's! That sundae looks soooo good.

Isn't Sanaa delish?! We loved that place!

Can't wait to read more!

Sorry our review adds to the not so great reviews you have been reading. I so wanted to love Fulton's, as the ambience can't be beat and is right up my alley. Maybe they will turn things around and improve some of these minors issues someday!

Beach Club Resort arrival day

This morning, we were up early and headed over to the Beach Club Resort, with our belongings handed off to the bell service at POR. We left so early so we could make RD at HS, but stopped off at the Beach Club Marketplace to grab a quick bite.

We shared this:

The egg and cheese croissant

The picture so does not do this justice. This was delicious, and our only regret is that we didn't order one each. The croissant was slightly sweet, soft and fresh tasting, and the eggs were light and fluffy. The cheese was melted and plentiful! I can't wait to return just to eat another one of these!

One place I wish we had eaten instead of Fulton's is Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD. All the pictures and reviews just look and sound delightful. Ah maybe next time! Hope you have another good ADR in place of Fulton's or a chance for a great quick service meal like WPE!

Starring Rolls Lunch and Snacks at HS

We spent the morning in HS, riding our favorite rides and making the mad dash to Toy Story Mania, where we only had a short wait.

We wanted a light lunch as we knew we had a big evening of indulgence ahead of us.

We chose Starring Rolls simply because I had wanted to try their sushi rolls. Here is our lunch:

We split this, and it was very light, achieving one goal. Otherwise it was just ok, and it was prepackaged, like the kind of sushi you'd get in any grocery store from the deli area. We didn't expect a whole lot, so we weren't disappointed.

Since our lunch was so small, we had plenty of room for snacks later on.

We enjoyed this during the Indiana Jones Stunt Show Spectacular. The icy drink is a pina colado slush from the Sweet Spells Apothecary on Hollywood Blvd, and this was on my must-do list. It was something I'd tried last year during our first visit to WDW, and truly was my favorite beverage of the entire trip. It didn't disappoint and was again my favorite! The popcorn was as it should be, warm, light and salty.

Next up, Tangierine Cafe and the Wishes Dessert Party

For the afternoon, we went to the Beach Club and checked into our lovely lagoon view room, and found our luggage conveniently stored in the hotel lobby. After some unpacking, we took a quick swim and a rest, then showered and dressed for our Wishes Dessert Party at the MK. This was something I'd booked for DP as a birthday surprise. Preparing to go to the dessert buffet was like preparing for a long night of partying, something I used to know a little bit about... We needed some real food in our stomachs to soak up all the dessert we were about to consume.

We decided to walk over to Epcot World Showcase and sample a quick service meal we'd missed out on during our last visit, Tangierine Cafe.

Here is what we ordered:

The vegetarian platter with a combination of salads, falafel and sauces.
Again, we split this (and had eaten a few bites before we took the picture). Le me tell you, we both LOVED this. It was absolutely delicious with just the right combination of flavors and textures. The cast members at this restaurant were exceptionally helpful and seemed eager to please. The food was light and tasty and just perfect. This is one restaurant we can't wait to visit again. One thing that we really found strange was just how empty this place was. It was right at dinner time and we seemed to be the only people within 200 feet. In fact, we hesitaed a little, wondering if all the other guests knew something we didn't know about this restaurant. After eating here, now I know that it is we who knew the secret, and the other guests who were in the dark.

After we enjoyed our meal in Epcot, we walked back to Beach Club and waited for the bus to MK. We waited several minutes and the bus hadn't arrived. We had seen several for the other parks, but still nothing for MK. In a panic that we'd be late for the dessert buffet, we decided to take a cab over to MK. This wasn't very expensive and would have been a genius idea, except that we didn't know that you can't actually take a cab to the main gate of MK. This might have worked well for the other parks, where the cabs can enter a passenger drop off queue. At MK, they are required to drop you at the TTC, and then you have to take the monorail from there. I must say, I was in quite a state, believing we would definitely be late under these circumstances, but it actually all worked out just fine. We entered the MK with plenty of time to spare and actually arrived to the seating area in Tomorrowland well ahead of our reservation time.

We were seated right away. We loved the little welcome sign they left at our table!

We had plenty of time prior to the show starting to sample many of the delicious desserts from the buffet.

This was my first plate. Everything was just yummy. The chocolate covered strawberries were heavenly, plump, sweet and juicy. The miniature creme brulee was my second favorite.

This was DP's first plate. She enjoyed everything she had as well.

For seconds, she wanted something a litte more refreshing, so she went for a little ice cream sundae.

I was a little more insatiable and needed to try some more of the sweets.

That little orange cup was filled with a nice "light" mango smoothie type beverage.

In addition to all the desserts, there was unlimited nonalcoholic beverages, including coffee. We both thoroughly enjoyed having a nice cup of tea with our treats, then coffee afterwards as we geared up for the show, the real reason we reserved the dessert party in the first place.

I must say, if you haven't ever attended this dessert party, it is well worth it. The cast members really try to make this a special event for you, attending to all your needs. It was one indulgence that was definitely worth the $50 we had paid for it. We had a perfect evening and enjoyed the perfect view of the fireworks. It was truly a magical night.
