dive quest at Epcot

Looking for feedback about the Dive Quest at Epcot. My 13 year old would like to particpate when we are there this fall. Is it worth it? What about the other adventures?

Your 13 year old would have to be scuba certified to do this tour so that is a big issue. I have not done this tour but I am confirmed for Sept 28 so I can provide more detailed feedback. I also volunteer at a local marine aquarium and I love diving with such a large diversity of fish and other sea life that I do not normally see all at once when scuba diving in the ocean. One of the other tours I really enjoyed was the Segway tour at Epcot. I would definitely do this tour again and would on my next trip but unfortunately I have so many things to do that weekend and I only had time for one tour.

My Family of 4 did the Seas Aqua Tour last year & loved it! My Boys were 9 & 12 It's Surface Scuba. You do not need to be certified.

My husband did Dive Quest in March. It was a surprise for him and he LOVED it! He still goes on about it. That said for this experience you do have to be scuba certified and bring your cert with you. They do have surface experience that you do not have to be certified to participate in.

If your son is certified my hubby highly recommends the dive.

I have done the Disney Dive Quest a while ago with my DH, and he and my two children ages 14 & 18 will be diving with him again in December. It really is a wonderful experience. My son was just certified as a diver in June as a 13 y.o., but I wouldn't advise your son to do that just for this dive, only if he intends to become a recreational diver as a hobby. He could do the Aqua Seas tour without being a certified diver.

Because it's a shallow dive, we got to spend at least an hour underwater. We dove with all the fish (including sharks!) and "surfaced" in a diver's bell which was fun and a very unique experience for any diver. We went down to the restaurant and it was fun to interact with the diners- especially the kids!

The whole experience took 3-4 hours, which is why I don't want to do it again. It seemed to me that they covered quite a lot I was already familiar with (i.e. I was a bit bored), but that might not be the case for a young person. He will never see this many fish ever again, either!!

If your son is already certified, he would not need to bring his own gear, they provide everything, even wetsuits as they want everything as clean as can be.

Thanks for your input. We are going back and forth as to whether to get the scuba certification, but I think that I would rather him get his certification with someone else. The other tour seemed kind of basic, and I wasn't sure how much he would enjoy it.
