It was also reported that there was a maximum of 100 CDs available for purchase on the 14 night cruise.

Why? Is this true of every 14 night cruise?

Probably won't know for sure until the EBPC begins in a few days, but the reason given was the sheer number of photos taken during a 14-night cruise vs. the number of CMs and amount of time the final night to actually make the CDs.

On our 14 night Hawaii (Oct 2012), it was the same deal - CD for $399.95, add prints for $75.00, limited to 100 CDs max for the cruise.

Haven't gone on a cruise in a long time...

How do they pick your pictures? Are they by stateroom? What if you are part of a multi stateroom party? We have 4 rooms with my parents and two sisters and their families. I would like a CD of all of us.

Each stateroom must purchase their own CD. The only exception to this is where there are 2 staterooms with Mom and child(ren) in one room and Dad and child(ren) in the second room. Immediate family only, not extended.

Now, if one stateroom purchases a CD, and at least one person from that stateroom is in the picture taken (along with anyone else from other rooms) that picture will be on the CD.

We cruised in May 2012 and there were 15 people in 5 rooms. Our reservation was linked and one of the ladies is a seasoned travel agent. Shutters allowed all photos from the entire group to be purchased for $399, I think, and the adults split the cost.

Again, not the norm. Nor how it's supposed to be. But there are some CMs who do these things. It just makes it more difficult for those who "play by the rules".

Shutters uses face recognition software. If any member of a stateroom is recognized, the picture will be included on the CD.

Assuming the poster above about the 15 people in 5 rooms, as long as ONE person of the room purchasing the CD is on the picture, it will be included. Of course, Shutters could have made exceptions but not the norm...

How does this make things more difficult for anyone else?

Well, someone here on the boards will now go to Shutters and say "I saw that I can get 5 rooms on one CD". And, most likely, make a big stink about it when they are told "you can't do that".

Yes, it does happen.

As well as the poor Shutters employee that has to tell that person "No" now is making "my cruise an absolute nightmare" since they can't get something that's obviously against policy.

Meh. I thought CMs going above and beyond was referred to as a "magical moment". Particularly when it doesnt directly affect anyone else.

Yes, pixie dust is great. But when many people start asking for(or even demanding) pixie dust, then it's not really magical any longer.

So you're OK with the lady ahead of you at Shutters getting a CD with 5 different rooms on it, but you can't get the extra room with Grandma & Grandpa in it on your CD?
