In Ohio, we had our school calendars two years in advance. I got spoiled, I think. I was cranky when I went to book our Galveston Magic cruise as soon as the dates for 2013 were released (April 2011) and I didn't have the 2012-2013 school calendar! And of course, you know I booked it based on 2011 winter break and 2012 was completely different! Our cruise landed during finals week. Ended up having to cancel and re-book for Spring Break 2013.... so by the time we get on the boat, it will be 23 months since we booked!!

I AM SO READY!!! Minus my FE.... that's NOT ready. I guess I still need these last 31 days afterall

Alright, I don't want to go off topic, but I HAVE to give my distaste for your school system NOT giving y'all Good Friday off! It breaks my heart to see the direction we're going.

Please forgive my hijacking Continue discussing all things cruising 2014!

I've been patiently following this thread...

Is it reasonable to assume, based on rumors and speculation of course, we can expect a Panama re-positioning cruise and an transatlantic repo in 2014?

I think it's difficult to say anything with certainty. Kudos to the detective work that has been so painstakingly done that at least gives some credence to some of the speculation.

However, until anything is announced - it is just that speculation. (of course I can tell you that I am totally hoping)

Growing up in California in the late 70s and 80s (graduated in 90) I can tell you the only reason we got Good Friday was because we had spring break the week before Easter. Always had to be back at school the Monday after Easter Sunday. Always made traveling difficult!

On a side note, I'm waiting for the Alaska and Med dates to be released....what are people's experiences here on opening day prices vs booking a little later? We have a 5/9 cruise and I wanted to do an OBB but I am so afraid if the prices come out (like rumor says, next week), will they be way up by May? I am making myself crazy over this all

Can you book on opening day then rebook onboard if it's cheaper?

Yes, for standard cabins. Not sure about concierge.

For the 2013 Greece and Venice itineraries, the prices went up by the hour. The 7-day med that i have booked on day 1 still has the same price. So it depends on what you want.

I was told that the concierge deposit isn't refundable but IS transferrable. You can move the $$ to a different cruise or stateroom category. Disney just won't give it back to you. So does that mean it can be used to reshop?

If the speculation is true and I can book on the 13th, what time would that mean I can start booking?

I know, I should know this but how many times can I move my dummy cruise. I have one booked for November of this year but I was hoping to go in 2015. Will Disney let me move it twice?

Yes, so long as you are not past the paid in full date.
