Nooooo! I am a big Gilles fan. And although his last few weeks haven't been *quite* as good, I don't think anyone can say that he's not one of the best technical dancers on the show (certainly better than Emmitt, and better than Apolo, I think), and could have easily won it.

I have often thought - why don't the judges have some kind of "emergency lifeline" on this show? Maybe to be used 1 or 2 times per season. For instances like this when CLEARLY the wrong person is being sent home?

I mean, really. Ridiculous.

Well, my neighbors just heard me swear. . . twice. I don't think they will be looking forward to seeing me in the hallway any time tonight.

I'm very glad it was Gilles over Apolo, but the fact that emmitt keeps being safe is just wrong. Whoever said emmitt was the new Bristol was on to something? . Wen Len said during emmitt's first dance "just a little slip. I don't care," I was confused as to why we even have judges. You don't care that he slipped? It no longer matters? Interesting.

Wait, Melissa used to be a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. At some point, they will have to pick which one they want to vote for. They can't split votes and expect both of them to stay on.

It should have been Emmitt, I hope he doesn't make the finals. He sure didn't deserve that perfect score he got last night but they don't let me judge.

So there will be five for the semi finals, does that mean we'll have another double elimination next week? Or will there be four in the finals?

See and this is why I almost wish they'd do away with the fan voting. Make it just a dancing show judged by actual dancing judges.

I am very bummed that we will be able to see a silky sleeveless Emmitt instead of a shirtless Gilles . My two favorites are still there.

I never really thought of Melissa as a contender, but I really think she can take this all the way.

She has been doing great these last few weeks.
I would like to see a dark horse win it.

How many people are there in the state of Texas? I would think it would be different if Eli Manning was a contender, as in just NYC alone, there would be 8 million people voting for him + the rest of the state. That kind of numbers would really skew and screw results up.

If you think of it, just by fan base alone, Gilles was going to go last night as most of his fan base is the Sex & the City, type fans which are mostly women + some Latin & French fans.

Meanwhile Shawn and Apollo have the Olympics fan base, which is all of the U.S, of both sexes. Plus, both dancers are really good, so you get those people tuning in voting for the best dancer. There are definitely more of both of them than voting for Emmitt.

I would think that means Kelly will possibly go next weeks as it's only the GH/female crowd voting for her.

Or Melissa, as she only has some Dallas Cowboy/TX people, plus a handful of female Bachelorette fans. Her & Tony being of the best dancers might make her last and get into the finals, but she doesn't sound like she has a strong enough fan base to win. Unless Emmitt gets knocked out, and all those Cowboy fans move to Melissa.

. . . Hmm, just some very unscientific musing here. . .

I believe Melissa is the best dancer remaining in the competition. I think Shawn is adorable and Derek is a phenomenal choreographer, but, to me, she is a gymnast first and a dancer second. And she doesn't have the "look" of a dancer. Melissa may not have the huge fan base the other contestants have, but, in my opinion, she deserves to win. I love watching her and Tony together. Their smiles light up the stage.
