Dine w/Shamu - anyone try it recently?
Has anyone done the Dine with Shamu experience since it reopened this month? Any reports?
We are going on 8/13, and I'm trying to figure out whether to see the One Ocean show before the meal. One Ocean is running at noon, 2:30 and 7:30 that day. That means the show will be going on when we get seated at 2:45. Should we go to the noon show? Or should we wait and "watch" the show from the Dine w/Shamu venue? |

Looking forward to your review upon your return, as we are planning on going on our Christmas trip. I wonder when they will release December dates?

I just called Sea World reservations. I was concerned that they were removing the 2:45 event and replacing it with 12:15 or 5:30. I spoke with a reservation agent and a supervisor, both of whom guaranteed that they were still having the 2:45 event. (That is definitely one guarantee I would not bet money on.) I would not be surprised if I showed up at Sea World that day and am told that I had been moved to another time slot, and then I show up for that slot and get awful seats. I am trying to remain positive that it will all be fine, but am having a hard time. If anyone else calls and gets a different answer, I'd appreciate hearing it.

I hope the later slot (5:45) continues to be offered, or even later yet for the holiday season. I would prefer that our "big meal" of the day not be for lunch if possible.

I called again. I spoke with another CM who at least seemed to know what I was talking about when I said originally there was one seating at 2:45 and now it shows two seatings at 12:15 and 5:30. He said that if I was confirmed for 2:45, they would definitely honor that reservation. He told me I could switch to one of the others if I wanted to, but I like the 2:45 time so I'm didn't switch. I feel a little better about this conversation, though, than my last one. Last time, they had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. I'm going to take my chances.

Hi everyone,
Did this last week. We had booked first so we had a table by the windows. I was a tiny bit disappointed as the trainers seemed to hang on the left and right sides; and we were right in the middle, by the windows. When I went, as the return of dine with shamu is so recent, the second row was not used. THe buffet was good. We went at 2:45. From the dine with Shamu location, you cannot see the One Ocean show. I somehow though we could. I was a bit confused too when I came in the park. If you have your e-mail confirmation, you do not need to recheck in when you come in the park. You go do your day, and about 15 min. before the meal, you go at the podium. THey will send you to take your picture and then you go wait to go in. The door open right at 2:45. There is already a shamu in the pool; others will join them as well. You can ask questions to the trainer. It was good and fun; and we would do it again. |

Just got a phone call from seaworld. No more 245 meal. I could choose from 12.15 or 530. We are there 17th aug.
