Week at Walt Disney World? More Like Weekend at Bernie's: A July '12 TR COMPLETE 5/23

Hello, DISers, and WELCOME to the happiest, coolest (thank you, Stacey) trip report on Earth!

I'm so glad you've decided to join me for this, as it's gonna be a fun one. We had an amazing trip with below-average crowds, great weather, and lots of delicious foods. I have many stories to share and I can't wait to get started!

First of all, for those of you who don't know, I'm Kara. I'm 22 and I've been Disney obsessed for as long as I can remember. And I'm one of those weirdos who has vivid memories from fairly early on in life, so I've been a Disney fan for a long time. Trust me. This is my third trip report here on the DIS. The first two are linked in my signature just in case you wanna catch up. Or re-read them. Because, let's be real, they were both works of art.

Other things you should know about me:
~ I am addicted to Mickey Rice Krispy Treats. They are the food of the gods. Y'all can have your Dole Whips and your Mickey Premium Bars, I'm sticking with the good stuff. Literally. Get it? Because Rice Krispy Treats are sticky. ...I also enjoy lame jokes.
~ I firmly believe that it's not an official trip to WDW until you've watched 543209343 loops of Stacey and her Must-Dos.
~ Hercules is my favorite Disney movie and I hate how underused it is in the parks. Including Go the Distance in Wishes is not enough, people! I am not satisfied.
~ Dr. Seeker (from Dinosaur) and I have some serious beef. That guy is a jerk.
~ I share a birthday with Maelstrom which is super fitting because I am also a family-friendly Viking adventure.

Oh, and here's a picture of me chillin' in Eeyore's house (kindly ignore the gum in my mouth).

As usual, I was accompanied on this trip by my wonderful family: My mom, my dad, and my 20 year-old sister, Katie.

I am so thankful that, even though Katie and I are grown, we still take our annual family vacation to WDW. With everything going on in our lives, being able to spend time together as a foursome is so special. [Sidenote: If any of you have an unruly young adult in your traveling party who thinks family vacations are lame and for babies, I will gladly fill in. Just lemme know the dates. I am a sucker for a good family vacay, even if it's not with my own.]

I don't really want to give too much away trip details wise, but you can know that we spent 7 nights at Port Orleans French Quarter. It was our first stay at POFQ and we enjoyed it very much.

Here are a few POFQ teasers just to tide you over:

Well, that's all for the introduction, folks. As for an explanation of the title? For that, youll just have to stay tuned.

YAYAYAYAY I saw your tweet and I was over here in 2.8 seconds. Did you know that's how fast Rock N Roller coaster goes from 0 to 60? Because it is. Stacey told me.

This is why we're friends. I find jokes like this HILARIOUS for some reason, and everyone always makes fun of me. I am just so easily amused.

I'm glad you loved POFQ! I told you that you would!

Joining in!

I also love Hercules..I mean Hunk-ules. When we moved, I got rid of all my CDs, but of course before I did, I moved them into my iTunes. Somehow my Hercules soundtrack (which is right up there with Princess & the Frog for my favorite Disney soundtrack) was downloaded with Spanish titles for the names of the songs. I think it's Spanish anyway. It makes it fun to try to find the song I want when I'm in the car, that's for sure.

Yay! I can't wait to read it!

Fun story: This summer as I was walking across the Brooklyn Bridge on my family vacation, "Go The Distance" randomly started playing on my ipod. How fitting is that?!?

HAHAHAH your rice krispy joke. One of a kind, I tell ya. I don't understand people who don't like corny (krispy? no... doesn't work) jokes. Like, why not? Whatever.

This will probably sound like a crock of doodoo but it seriously makes me SO happy that yall had a great trip, and I cannot wait to hear about it! (I always kinda wish that guy wasn't a banana.)

I'm in and ready for another cheese-gasmic and extremely punny TR (: I totally agree about Hercules not getting enough recognition in the parks. It's not exactly my favorite Disney movie, but it is pretty awesome and it is my firm belief that Roger Bart (the singer for Herc) and I need to have a sing-off of "Go The Distance" because I'm sure I will wipe the floor with him... maybe...

Excited to hear all about the trip!

Not only has the fabulous Kara started a new TR...she talks about Weekend at Bernie's in the title. Um, that is only one of the best movies ever made. In fact, it is a tradition of mine to watch both Weekend at Bernies movies before I go to Disney. I did not do this the last time I went due to me being too obsessed with Tangled and having to watch that like 47 times before we left. I gotta tell ya, I miss Weekend at Bernies. I have both DVDs (OBVIOUSLY) and I think I will have to cancel my plans pop them in. Andrew McCarthy here I come!!!!!!!!!

I share a birthday with Maelstrom which is super fitting because I am also a family-friendly Viking adventure.

I love your love for your family trips!

I'm glad to hear POFQ was so awesome. I've had such a desire to stay there in the last year. It just looks like the perfect mix of Disney fun and relaxing Disney beautifulness. If you know what I mean.

Can't wait to hear about all your adventures!
