I know and that makes me nervous now since we will be checking in later than Erika did. I wonder how they forgot to assign them a room on the level they reserved.

I would allow my 13 & 10 year old to go to the lounge alone if we were in our room, together if we were in another part of the resort such as SAB. The 6 year old could go with them either time, but never alone. In "theory" I am OK with the 13 year old going up to the lounge alone from another part of the resort but would like to get her used to going places unfamiliar/big/public with a buddy. Those two may be our official FP runners for our trip hahahha Hope that makes sense.

Don't have any real tips for you...sorry. We love CL with our family size and kiddos ages.
Thanks! That is what I was thinking! Very excited and can't wait for Oct!

My last BWI CL was summer 2011, and my recall is a bit fuzzy. I remember the coffee/chocolate/latte machine after hours. I don't recall anything else, but every resort leaves out fruit. I'm also certain CR added their drink cooler after spring 2011.

Wish I had more current info.

It might be worth emailing the IPO to ask.

I wouldn't let late night make you nervous. We've had several smooth late night check-ins, and at least a few normal hours check-ins that were not perfect. Disney does periodically make mistakes, but as businesses go, they are pretty reliable. The only think that bites a little about late night arrivals is you have to use the front desk. No biggie, but it's fun to be escorted to the concierge desk.

It is very important let the resort know your arrival times/flight information. I did not read the trip report, but I know rooms which are no-shows as of midnight can be released. ALWAYS keep in mind flights are often substantially delayed- all months of the year. Just because your flight is supposed to land before midnight, doesn't mean it will. Especially if you have a non-direct flight! If Disney knows you will be arriving late, they'll make sure to hold your room.

Ok thanks. It's not a make or break sort of thing but it was just a nice touch.

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if they have ever offered FD or RO dscts on CL rooms in the past? We are coming in October, staying at BC CL and would love some extra spending money. Not changing my plans regardless but just curious (and hopeful )

Thanks

I believe it was the stay in late Nov-early Dec,2011, BWI CL and we had FD. Frankly, I'd rather have a room only discount since the dining plan just doesn't work for us. I.e., I prefer appetizers over desserts and had extra snack credits at the end of our stay.

In 2010, in the fall, we had a GREAT RO discount of 40% @ BWI CL.

Thank you. I made sure I told IPO of our late arrival. Glad to hear you have had some smooth late night check ins.

For our August Poly CL stay, I have an AP discount of 35% for our first three nights and the late summer 20% offer for our last four. So, yes, if there's availability, they do offer RO discounts. Good luck

We had a RO discount this past Jan. Sometimes the club level is an extra 5%

I'm going Club level this September with a 35% discount. Could have changed to FD, but would rather have the discount.

Good to know! How did you figure which was a better deal? Did you use the rack rate and then try to figure out how much you would spend on food?

Thanks

Well, we have used the dining plan several times & really like it, but the last couple of trips we weren't all that hungry. Last trip we split our lunches & really didn't want all the desserts. Free dining sounds great, but when the tip is figured that can really add up one's costs.

I wanted to try CL at least once & this seemed a good time with the discount. Now I can have just an appetizer for dinner instead of a full dinner. I think we will have less costs going OOP. Remember we will have breakfast, snacks, sodas, beer & wine in CL which will cut some of our costs.
