Yes, I noticed this as well. We are pondering a MLK trip again, and prices with the passholder discount looked like this:

CR Atrium Std 447
GF Sugarloaf 407
GF RPC STD 504

Those to me are getting close together making the savings (especially on a short trip) less a factor.

ALK Club Level

Hi there. I need help with room requests for AKL club level. I know the club room is on the 6th floor. Does that mean that you will automatically be placed on the 4th or 5th floors? Ideally we'd like to be close(ish) to the elevator but we still want to make sure we get a really good animal view. Will I have to make a choice between a great view or a clase lobby location or is it possible to get both? In what I have read it sounds like the resport is really spread out and there can be longs walks involved if you are located on the end of the building. Thanks in advance for your help!

We stayed about mid-way on the zebra trail of the horseshoe and didn't find it that long of a walk. But we are two adults in O.K. health so I could see it seeming long for someone with a disability or problems walking or maybe even kids. But there are windows looking out to the savannah on the walk which is nice. In the end, we didn't think it was an issue getting to the CL lounge or lobby but if we were at the very end it might have been annoying. You can definitely ask to be in a room closer to the lobby. At one point I even found a map of the resort and called and asked for specific room numbers based on something I read online about views. However, I ended up calling and taking the specific room request off of my reservation and just asked to be on a specific floor. I asked to be on the 4th or 5th floor but that was before we upgraded to a CL room. I think CL is automatically the 4th, 5th, and 6th flors but I'm not sure 100% about that.

Oh - and about the view! I personally wouldn't want to be too close to the lobby just because I think you can see more of the savannah being a little further out on the "horseshoe." However, you'll still have a good view closer to the lobby. The resort does a good job putting out food so that the animals move all around the savannah. I would be worried that the pool might block some of the savannah view but I'm guessing that would be considered a "pool view" room instead of the savannah view. Based on my stay, looking at this map: http://keanespics.com/ThemeParks/WDW..._RAKLJ_Map.htm I would probably want to stay in the 4501-4515 or 5501-5513 block to be close to the lobby but far enough out to see across the savannah.

Thanks

Good Morning!

I read on the BWI thread that the CL lounge is under refurb in May. We would like to change to CL but if I understand correctly BWI CL rooms won't be available in May due to the refurb. CL rooms are available during our stay, so I'm a bit confused about all this. I've scanned through this thread but didn't find info on BWI CL lounge being closed this May. Does anyone know if there is a start date for the refurb? Thanks everyone! Hope my question makes sense!

I specifically checked the dates you mentioned, and nothing came up. But when I check our dates, May 5-9, all CL rooms, including honeymoon suites, are available. Very confusing. It doesn't seem right that all CL rooms would be closed because of the lounge refurb. Seems like they would relocate the lounge to another area during refurb. Why would Disney shut down the ability to still make money on CL rooms?

When they are working on the lounge, they normally move it to the Presidential Suite.

Thank you! That would explain why my dates come up but PolyAddict's dates don't.

Apparently it's the whole CL floor and the CMs will be working temporarily in other areas of the resort. This hadn't been confirmed by Disney though, only what I've heard from a usually reliable source

Is RPC concierge good at securing hard to get dining reservations? does the concierge have early access to reservations? I'm wondering if they are able to book ressies prior to the actual 180 day mark?

All get the 180+10 but RPC has no advantage over any other club level. We typically make our own reservations but our trips are not planned that far in advance. As passholders we tend to make quite a few spur of the moment trips.

As it gets closer to your reservation I have found it is actually better to keep checking yourself if there was something unavailable when you originally booked.

I have never not been able to get what I wanted, it may not be available until the day before and not the exact time but something is usually always cancelled.
