BWI CL has large glass bottles of Evian. We've only seen the plastic bottles at the YC and BC and you have to ask for them they aren't out to take.

Many times in the parks (especially Epcot) when I use my gold key card to pay for something the castmember will typically ask where I am staying and then I tell them and they say Oooooohhh that's so nice. So I think most of them know what it means.

The AKL lounge is nice. But I would always choose the BC CL over AKL because of the close walk to Epcot, the boat to the Studios, and Stormalong Bay. I don't mind taking buses sometimes, but I don't like to feel the bus is my only option. Plus I like night life and places to go and things to do in the evening.

All this talk of gold vs blue keys reminds me of a question -

DH and I stayed CL for the first time in April (at AKL), and the guard at the gate gave us a blue parking pass for our windshield instead of the usual white pass. Is that because we were staying CL? I've never had a blue parking pass before, and thought maybe the resort was just recycling paper or something, but we always drive to the parks and a few times the CMs at the parking lot tolls commented on my "fancy" blue parking pass (we usually had the top down on the convertible, so i think the parking CMs feel compelled to say something to me since I'm basically in their face ).

i must be a snob, because i really liked flashing my gold key card , and i'll be sad if we don't get one in oct (staying AKL CL again)!

I have a feeling that AK has a better club level. I would still pick BC over AK. I just wouldn't pay for club level, unless it was unavoidable.

That probably didn't help at all. I am having my own problems deciding on a resort. I have gone from AK to WL to GF sugarloaf CL. I had to give up CL at YC...actually I could only get a SV room at BWI. I don't think I will miss Club level after the cruise I am usually sick of the the whole eating and drinking thing by then.
We have been AP holders for 4 years, and we are not renewing. I think that is leading to some anxiety over this trip. My kids are 11 and 12 now, and it's time to do some new things. We will still go to Disney once a year I hope.

Anybody have any thoughts on Sugarloaf. RPC is out of the question. I had to give up YC and move to BW to upgrade from WL to GF. I would have to cancel the cruise to upgrade to RPC. The cruise is actually less per night then RPC.

After reading this, it hit me just how crazy RPC rates are. We are taking a 3 night DCL cruise right before Christmas and I priced out 2 nights RPC prior to the cruise. Our cruise (which includes 4 of us in a deluxe family oceanview verandah) is cheaper than 2 nights in RPC .....and the cruise includes as much food as you want those 3 days, along with entertainment. RPC rates are really getting out of reach .

Sugarloaf was our first club level experience at WDW. It's very nice. The building is in a fantastic location. I remember the castmembers being friendly, but not overly-so, like the club castmembers at the Poly. I think I remember champaign being offered as well. Food offerings were typical for Disney club level. Our room was in good shape. I remember LOTS of loud, unruly children running up and down the hallway. I also remember, because of the close proximity to the courtyard pool, guests coming in wet, without coverups on, getting snacks and such in the lounge. Perhaps that was just an isolated incident, but I noticed it several times during our stay. These things can happen in any resort and wouldn't deter me from staying there again, just kind of a bummer.

I'm not sure I'm following your post....are you adding days before or after your cruise, and you're having a hard time deciding upon a resort that will fit your wants and your budget? I would recommend Sugarloaf to anyone, but you said you may be over the "eating and drinking thing". Does that mean you're booking for after your cruise? If that's the case, why not just skip the club level and book a room at the resort of your choice?

We are staying at sugarloaf 4 nights before the cruise. The first few days of vacation is when I really have my eat and drink on.......after the cruise not so much. We are staying at BWI SV no CL for 4 nights after the cruise so I think that will work out well. I have priced out several different resorts and combinations. This one was actually was less than WL CL/YC CL split that I originally booked. I get to try a new Club level so I'm excited.

I know! The cruise prices in September are great. Our 4 night cruise in September was only 1960 for 2 adults and 2 kids in a verandah room. I just need the hurricanes to stay away. This same cruise in July would be closer to 5000. I'll sail through a hurricane to save 3 grand.

That's an awesome price for a 4 night cruise!! And I agree......$3000 is worth the change from July to September. The summer cruise prices are crazy. We were originally booked for July, but after seeing how busy of a summer we had ahead of us, I started looking at December. Our December cruise is $1000 cheaper than what July would have been and we have a higher cabin category than what we had for July. Another perk is that I get to be back in Disney during Christmas time .
