We are a bit nervous about staying at SoG, having never stayed there before.
My SIL and her family stayed there last May with her parents (retired military). Her DH travels alot for work and stays in very nice hotels. He was very pleased with SOG - thought it was top notch. They also raved about the food and used the SOG shuttle service with no problems. Have a great trip!!!

Sorry I am just now seeing this! I actually rented through a DisBoard Member on the DVC Rental Forum. It was a wonderful experience! I highly recommend checking out that Forum and working with someone on renting the points!

I've stayed two times and it is very nice. Large rooms and a good location.

Mine has changed since I last posted. Total cost will be about $4340

Our trip is from May 9-15 (6 nights), 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 infant (almost 3, so too big for a Pack and Play)

AOA, Lion King Suite - 6 nights: $1,540.96 (15% plus 20% off Orbitz discount)

Airfaire for 5 - Round trip from DCA to MCO: $699.00

Magic Your Way 6 day tickets for 2 adults, 2 kids: $1004.06 for 5 day tickets from Undercover Tourist. Will cost ~$40 to upgrade to a 6 day ticket at WDW.

Food: No DDP. I have 6 ADRs, including 1 signature for SO and I. 1 Expect to spend around $950 including tips.

Total Cost: Approximately $4340.02

Babysitting: We will go out one night. Cost will be about $100 including tip.

Souveniers: $250

Pop Century- we stayed 3/1-3/6
6 days/5 nights for 2 adults and one infant (free)
Booked with PIN for free dining
Standard room/5 day PH ticket/Regular DDP: 1614.00
Trip Insurance: 156.00
Airfare- Nonstop on Airtran + bag fees (2 tickets): 664.00
Spending Money/Tip Money: 175.00

Total: 2609.
Minus: 375 in gift cards gotten as gifts from family= 2234.00 spent by us.

Although DH and I generally don't count our airfare as part of the cost to go to Disney because we travel to Orlando yearly to visit family, so we'd pay it regardless of going to Disney or not.

We upgraded to CSR, so now our trip package is $1,350.02 for 5 nights in a standard room with 4 day MYW tickets.

Without the spring discount, it would have been $1,689.92, so I like that.

2 adults
1 child
9 nights Beach Club Resort club level
10 day tickets w/ park hopper + water park fun and more
round trip airfare
towncar roundtrip from MCO

$6,628.09

We will be taking another $3800 we have saved for meals, souvenirs, tips, and drinks. Hopefully we will have some of this left over. I would say total this vacation will cost my family of 3 roughly $1,000 a day. I'm pretty sure we will never look back and regret it.
