Updating Trip #1

I am updating Trip #1 as I decided to add a couple days to our January vacation.

Trip 1
January 2013
7 nights - Sarasota Springs Resort - 1 bedroom
2 nights - Pop Century - Standard Room

SSR cost - $954 (RCI trade so I included my maintenance fee of $680+rci fee of $189 and disney fee of $95)
Pop Century - $184

Party - 1 adult and 1 child

Tickets - Basic 7 day pass (no hoppers) - $594.

Food - $500 Food (This is on the high side. We will eat out at few favorite spots but mostly eat in the villa as Disney food gets old real fast... IMHO)

Gas - $250 round trip from NC.

$75 in souveniors (I am not much of a shopper but I usually give my son $50 a trip to spend)

Total estimate for trip: $2,557

Trip #2 (Planning stage)

Time - Aug 2013 7 nights

Resort - (Based on DVC availability in order on "would like")
Bay Lake Tower, Wilderness Lodge, or Beach Club

Room Type - Studio (no rci trade this time )

Cost - Renting points and need approx 120 - 123 points at $11 pt = approx $1320-1350

Party - 1 adult and 1 child

Tickets - Basic 5 day pass (no hoppers) - $530. This might be less days as we like to take it slower in the summer and have more full resort days enjoying the pool. Always hoping for Yes Program tickets and this should save me $200.

Food - $400 Food -(This might go up a bit since will not have a full kitchen but at $55+ a day this will still be plenty. We will eat out one meal a day and eat in for breakfast and lunches)

Gas - $250 round trip from NC.

$75 in souveniors (I am not much of a shopper but I usually give my son $50 a trip to spend)

Total estimate for trip: $2,605

This hurts, but here goes!

June 2013 7 night trip
2 Adults

4 nights at POP= $609
3 nights BCV on rented points= $676
7 day park hoppers with Water Parks= $753
1 day 1 park pass to Universal= $183

Honeymoon Trip from the UK

Im from the UK, so my £s to $s are a bit of guess with current exchange rates.

Date of Trip: 29th July - 12th August
Resort: Animal Kingdom Lodge (but only standard car park view)
Group: My (will be) husband and I (its our honeymoon)
Tickets: Have currently purchased 14 day park hopper and discovery cove/seaworld tickets (still need universal tickets)
Dining Plan: Disney Dining Plan (was free when we booked)

At the moment this has cost us about £5800 or $9000.

I am planning on taking about £2000/$3000 spending money, and there are other bits and pieces I want to get aswell such as PhotoPass, La Nouba tickets, Blue Man group tickets.

You really should look into annual passes, since you have two trips in 9 months.

We got our trip updated w/ the Disney visa promotion, so that helped...

7 nights Grand Floridian
8 day park hoppers
7 nights deluxe dining

Total : $ 5922.00

additional expenses : $ 780 (tips/gas/spending money)

all in all, we're pretty happy....we saved $ 909 with the discount and of the total amount, we're using alot of Disney Rewards dollars. So out of pocket, we're actually spending less than we did for our 2010 trip. Thank goodness for Disney Visa rewards!!!

Here it is

Pop Century Standard Room
2 adults and 2 Disney kids
14 Nights 8/18 to 9/1
10 myw with WP&M
Free QSDP
Total 3236.00

Still need to add air
We are thinking of upgrading to a moderate if we do that it will tack on 1000.00 to our total plus tips. It seems like alot so we may just pay OP for a couple of TS meals. But then again that is for 2 full weeks.

We got free dining because our arrival date was Thursday March 29th. The Free dining went through the 30th. Since we arrived on the 29th, Free Dining was for our entire stay .

I need to find my budget sheet, but I figured out that I need to make $5300 for Disney vacations in 2013.

January: 4 nights, Half Marathon, purchase AP + TIW
April: 8 nights, Pop
August: 7 nights, AoA LM rooms
Sept:4 nights at DLR, AP upgrade, half marathon
December: 6 nights at BLT on rented points (if all goes as planned)

There are 3-4 of us in the room each time, except DLR, so that helps with the cost. I have a two-day base I am upgrading to the AP and am able to pay for appx 50% of my flights with Southwest points. Obviously it helps a lot that I am a single who travels with friends!

We eat for about 50% of the dining plan... TS two out of every three days, lots of snacky eating. Everything is paid for with gift cards, which garner fuelperks, so that a portion of my gas budget can be funneled into the WDW fund

We are adding an impromptu stay in Feb, that is outside of this budget. My bosses told me to pick a three-day weekend to take off and my BFF had the opportunity to stay at YC for a mega-discount... so okay! That will add several hundred to the overall budget.

2013: WDW Half in January (I DID IT!!), February Conference weekend at YC(?!) and Girls' Spring Break in April...

We just booked ours with the spring discount! For 2 Adults, April 18-April 23 (5 nights, 6 days), ours is:

5 Nights @ Pop Century (Standard Room): $589.50
4-Day MYW Tickets: $495.76
Total: $1,085.26

Obviously this excludes airfare, food, etc. The discount saved us about $163.50 compared to paying rack rate for Pop Century and buying tickets on Undercover Tourist.

This might make me throw up because I haven't been brave enough to actually total anything up yet. However, I have been as diligent as I possibly could about finding every possible discount that I could and being as frugal as possible.

7 nights at FW campground: $397.13
(2) adult & (1) child 6 day MYW tickets (no hoppers): $822.25
food budget for in-camper eating/necessities: $350.00
rough budget for in-park eating (eating out dinner every night-YIKES!): $500
rough idea for gas from VA to FL (driving a truck & camper): $400 round-trip
dogsitter for 4 legged baby not traveling to WDW: $200.00
Souveniers in WDW: $50 (my son will use a gift card)

Grand Total: $2984.38

So far, we have the following in gift cards to (hopefully) offset the costs a bit:

Disney Gift Cards: $265.00
Wal-Mart Gift Cards (to buy groceries/necessities for the camper): $380.00
Visa/American Express gift cards: $350.00

Possible End total after using gift cards: $1989.38 <-- not too horribly bad in the grand scheme of things, I guess

We also have some random restaurant gift cards that I'm hoping we can use to eat dinner on our travels down and possibly back. That would be nice!
