Whoa.

The first night in October MIL had a stroke (after a month of things being quiet) Eamon had gone to sleep in tears, thinking about my mom and how sad it was that she died before he existed. He was EXTREMELY upset thinking about grandparents and how he only has 2, etc. And just two hours later she was calling in crisis.

Oh wow! That's odd.

I just accidentally said that I was bored. Gosh I hope I'm not jinxing things. I'm happy to be bored.

I had a LONG conversation with one of the free info services about services for Seniors in MIL's county, it was really helpful. Didn't tell me much I didn't know, and it didn't help with the fact that MIL gets both too much and too little money every month, BUT it gave me more focus and direction, and the knowledge that we're not alone. After all, there wouldn't be agencies funded and staffed with people to answer questions and talk about that stuff if it were only this ONE family facing these issues.

I am glad you were able to talk to someone that was at least able to help you to voice things to. Even if you didn't learn much.

OK, back to the fun!

Knocking on wood (or at least laminate coffee tables), I'll say that all is quiet on the MIL front. She has a nurse coming by in 7 minutes to half an hour, and I hope that means I don't have to worry right now. So I'll take a little bit to post. I'm definitely going to have to make some prints, have them framed, make an album, so that we can remember the good of this trip before coming home to MIL having worsening health. Right now a lot of the good and fun is covered over in sadness, and I'd prefer to compartmentalize, LOL.

Did I post this? Our time on Splash was through the standby line so I had a chance to see more stuff than I normally do.

******************

October 3, morning time!

Robert was starting to drag, but he wanted to hit DCA with us.

This time we left RSR alone, because Luigis was so empty their doors were closed. CMs were gathered outside, and as we approached they cheered and walked us through.

In case you didn't catch it:

We were *this* close to being the only ones on the first ride! This close!

It was a lot of fun. I took a video of smashing into Eamon. I cannot rotate it in iphoto, on the old photobucket, or the new one (it shows a rotate button for videos, but it's not working). Sorry to make you turn your head/monitor. Also sorry if I'm talking in my minnie mouse voice in the video; feel free to turn off the sound. I do!

We walked back behind Luigi's over to TOT, which Robert wanted to ride before he felt too icky, and E agreed on.

Had a mystifyingly long wait before lining up for the actual ride elevator; it seemed there was only ONE working or something. Very odd. Fun. That picture was the only one we had problems with for photopass. I had to write in to get it put onto my account. Thankfully I'd made the CM print me a receipt; she almost refused, until I told her that all the other ride photo CMs had been able to do it. She was also covering up the screen, and I do NOT know why; they had a mat that seemed made to cover it up. Very weird. She uncovered it to make sure that was our photo (seeing us IN the photo didn't help there?) then covered it right back up.

Anyway, it is on our account now, and when we get the CD I'll share.

The guys needed some food (I had had a Luna bar at the hotel and wasn't hungry) so we ordered another no bacon croissant sandwich and a no bacon boule. THIS time it took a million years. We might still be waiting there for breakfast, I can't really be sure, since it took so long.

I don't know why. We could see the hands of the cooks behind the scenes, and they have a big chafing dish of eggs right next to the window in the wall where they put the food through, and we could see them adding eggs to breadbowls, etc, right there. Robert was watching, and when he finally saw what was probably our food, he watched them put the bacon on top of the eggs, pick up the receipt, and take the bacon off. EW. Thankfully they had also put the eggs in the breadbowl, which was NOT our order. So they had to start from scratch with that one. It's not really the cook's fault, though, our CM was obviously new and didn't order it right. I was just glad that we (probably) didn't get the bacony eggs from before.

After that Robert had to go. He was dragging too much and needed some sleep. Lucky dude, getting to sleep during the day when sick. (unlike me, since E was sick when I was sick, but not as sleepy as me) (speaking of that, E and I have colds again. joy.)

He promised to sleep and the plan was to meet back up for RFC early dinner.

We walked him over to the Grand's entrance, and took this along the way.

And off went poor Robert.

Mom and kid time!

We hit Soarin'. Saw this group on our way out.

Not sure how I feel about them. They are good, and funny, but the placement of their stage is just horrible. It creates a massive roadblock, since the "back" of the crowd runs into that rocket thing with cool water, and the drink area. The Soarin' area is bad enough, where the standby line can come out and block the FP line (thereby forcing you to use the FP exit as an entrance even if you're a person that wants, nay, NEEDS to use the proper entrance lest your mind get all tweaky and annoyed), and that group adds to the chaos.

We decided to hop after that.

On the way through Main Street we jumped into the Silhouette shop and had E sit for it. It was better than the one a few years ago where he simply looks like Christopher Robin, but I still don't think it looks much like E. Oh well. It's just a silhouette. We bought a frame this time.

We ran around and did what we wanted to. Watched the Jedi Academy, and E really enjoyed watching it. Saw some very cute kids, that's for sure! And you just never know who will be scared and who won't.

One itty bitty boy was slated to be FIRST, and the instant he saw Darth Vader come up he started shaking his head "no". Repeatedly. Wouldn't take his eyes off of Vader and just kept shaking NO. The trainer pulled him to the side and kept talking to him the whole time...no no no no. She finally brought him down and sat him where the padawans who had fought Vader sat.

But another little boy, almost same size as the first one, he was amazing! Full of bravery and bravado, and some serious flair! He was the one chosen to do the force Pushes against the stormtroopers, and if the kid actually had the force, I think he would have blown Autopia to Los Angeles! He just kept doing the "force push" motion, back and forth, with, well, force behind it...it was amazing and hilarious! Can I just say that I LOVE the actors being Vader and the troopers, because they paid attention to him, and reacted EACH and EVERY time his force push came their way. LOVED THAT!!!!!

We didn't get much more done that day. We were tired, too. So we chose to hop on the monorail and get on back.

From the monorail, the Lego dragon looks quite scary!

When we got back to the room, we realized Robert hadn't done much sleeping. He had stopped at the Lego store and bought E a couple sets ("use your best judgment" doesn't work with Robert! he wasn't raised to do that, unlike me, whoops...he actually had to consult with Lego employees as to what I might have meant, LOL), and also got some chocolate coins for each of us.

We all got a bit of rest, though, and finally felt ready for dinner at RFC. I had my birthday credit on the Landry's card, so it was a lot cheaper than it would have been otherwise.

E got a necklace like he's been wanting. The problem with it is that it pinches and pulls his neck hair.

We were hungry and a bit bored. E played with glowsticks.

My usual no-chicken pita quesadillas.

E's usual cheese pizza, with his UNusual chocolate milk.

We wanted an early dinner because we had decided that we would visit Surf's Up the next morning, and didn't want to still be full from dinner.

I don't know what we got up to after dinner, but eventually we went to sleep. Goodnight to the 3rd o' October.

Hi there!! Sounds like you have a moment to breath, good!!

I adore the picture of E and Hulk!! What a great boy picture!!

I would hope they would get rid of the eggs and start again. If only for the chance of allergy. Ew.

Poor R and lucky at the same time. Being to sleep when you are sick helps so much toward healing.

On our last trip, Eamon noticed the stroller parking signs at Star Tours, which had landspeeders-as-strollers. (or strollers as landspeeders?)

This time he noticed the stroller parking signs near Tomorrowland Terrace.

It really REALLY does. I was glad to give him that chance to sleep, even though it wasn't as long as it could have been, since he went into Lego and the little "convenience" store in DLH.

I hope they work later; I went to edit the post and the URLs look right to me. Weird.

Guess I don't have time for more right now, as we need to get ready to take the MIL to her GP appointment.

It was fairly decent. The GP is really concerned about her, and wants to get to the bottom of it and FIX it if possible. So she'll be doing a monitor for atrial fibrillation to see if that's the problem. I think he might take her off the coumadin if it's not, and change to plavix instead. It's funny how different each doctor's take on the situation is!

In the waiting room she expressed annoyance at the idea of getting it fixed, because then she won't "go" soon or fast.

Sigh.

At least E wasn't in earshot at the time.

Well, that sounds promising. It sounds like he is proactive.

I am so glad that E was not right there to hear that.
