Wait - do you mean the ones you can buy and eat while you're shopping at the IKEA furniture store, or do they have them available to take home and cook them there? That would be the first I'm hearing of that...

With all of this discussion about healthy eating and IKEA's meatballs, I've officially lost control of this thread!

Hey, if they don't taste that way, then I'm all for it.

but we use beef and sausage for our mixture dont know if i have ever seen the chicken sausage..but will look for it next time.

its also good to throw a little BBQ on the top of the meatballs the last 5 or 10 minutes to get a glazy crust on them...adds some extra good flavor.

We buy a ton of other kinds of chicken sausages from the butcher and grocery store/Costco but this would be the ground, not links. We also make our meatballs with either turkey or chicken but more often than not buy those if I can find the kinds I like. It's a pet peeve I have with Costco. Amy's (I think) makes a great chicken Italian meatball but Costco is inconsistent in carrying them. Yet they always have the teriyaki ones. Grr. I want them in my pasta, not as an appetizer!

Ok now I feel the need to make my chicken meatballs (with sundried tomatoes in them, yum!).
I don't need to get in the way of this exchange.

You might be right...the dining plan might have a lot to do with it. I'm sure it also makes it much easier on the kitchen, paring-down the offerings.

I hope you do, I've never eaten there and I don't think I've seen any reviews either. We just never seem to be looking for a slower-paced sit-down meal when we're at DD, so we're looking at either EoS or Cooke's. I'd like to try Raglan Road sometime though.

Yeah, I think I like cherry coke a little better than vanilla, but I can find cherry coke away from 50's or Sci-Fi every now and then. I haven't seen the vanilla though, so I got it for the rarity factor.

I don't see adult shakes on the menu listed on Allears.net, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they had them.

Lately even a salad is getting complicated. They are using the greens "mix" which will have carrots in it and not list it since it is greens.

I find out the hard way. Need to just ask for Caeser greens with a house salad.
You had an episode in a trip report or two ago didn't you? Where you had a reaction to something you didn't expect....I forget what it was exactly. That stinks that you have to be so careful.

Turkey bacon needs to be cooked crisp or it's worthless and tofu is officially the nastiest thing on the planet as far as I am concerned.

I fully support your stance on Shepard's pie.

I agree on the Shepherd's pie too....a traditional dish like that shouldn't be messed with.

I've had tofu in some indian dishes and it wasn't horrible...probably would've been better with some meat, but it was edible.

It can be okay, if it's in a dish with lots of flavorful stuff.

I think it's partly because we haven't had annual passes for our last couple of trips, so we don't want to use up a day on our tickets for a partial day. Plus, we usually have some pre-park business to attend to (getting a TiW card, upgrading tickets, whatever) at Downtown Disney, and we want to see Yeehaa Bob, so it actually works out really well.

We are plugging away on our first official day, yessiree.

I have to confess -- I don't think I've ever been in an IKEA. I just went to their Store Locator ('cause those meatballs sound really good), and the closest one is 38 miles away.

YES!!! We had a beautiful baby boy on October 23. I'm hoping to take him on his first trip to WDW in May (let's see if I can convince DH).

I'll post a pic of him on my sadly neglected TR one of these days. Uh...soon. Really. I promise.

I can tell by the WDW trip talk that you're going to be a great mom!

Whew! I'm finally caught back up.

I've enjoyed it all but my favorite picture is the one of your parents in the wedding mouse ears. And I love your Mom's attitude. We go to Disney to do stuff!

You have made me very hungry for PT. I haven't been there since 2009 when I had the Pot Roast.

Looking forward to more.
