We tried to make the request directly with DCL for our next cruise, but as we booked through a TA, DCL told us that the TA would need to make the request.

Which is a bummer, because due to my surgery it takes a lot longer for me to eat, and eating for me isn't pretty anymore. I don't like being stared at while I eat, and I don't like making the rest of our table wait until I've finished my appetizer before they can receive their entree.

When the TA contacted DCL, she was told to have us fax a medical paper to them (which had nothing to do with my reason for wanting to have a table to ourselves).
So we're going to make the request again after we board- even though the TA already requested it, and if it can't be honored I'll have to find an alternative way to have my meals.

Don't count on being seated with couples only. My DH and I travelled without the kids one year, and we were seated with a grandma and her DGD, who was about 10yo.

Then there was the time we had all 3 kids with us, and a nice middle aged, childless couple was seated with us. They were very nice, and didn't seem to mind our kids.

I would say if you don't want to be seated with kids, just call and request it. No request is guaranteed, but at least they will be aware that is what you want, and try to accomodate, rather than showing up on the 1st night to see you have been seated with the Brady Bunch.

I'm assuming you just call the general DCL number? Or is there a specific number to call for dining requests?

Thanks in advance!!

Yes. In our case, our TA handled it.

This is great info to know!! My DH and I are going on our 1st cruise in Sept and would prefer being at a table just the 2 of us. I'll have to call DCL and make that request.
