Dining seating question for adult only cruise

My husband and I are going on an adult only cruise for our anniversary. We will be sailing on the Dream, which we have sailed on before with the whole family. Will we be able to get a table for 2 in the dining rooms or will we be seated with a family?

You can certainly put in the request for a table for 2. Just call DCL and ask that the request be placed on your reservation. They will give you the "it's only a request, it can't be guaranteed, yada, yada, yada". Just agree and ask to have it noted on you reservation.

DCL makes every effort to accomdate all requests. Although, you will realize, they can't accomodate all requests. Many such requests are honored. Some are not.

When you board the ship, you can go to where the dining reservation changes are being handled and they can look up for you and see if you are at a table by yourselves. If not, make the request again, that works, too, mostly.

If you have late dining, this request is a bit easier to handle.

If you don't get a table for two, I wouldn't worry too much. My husband and I just went on the Fantasy in June. We didn't request a table for two and we were seated with two other couples traveling without kids. We all got along great and even met up at other times to do things together.

We have always requested to be seated just the two of us, and it has always been granted. We have always had late seating. It also helps to have only one dining request. For example, what is more important to you: a table for two, a certain dining rotation, or a specific server? We never request dining rotations or servers because it is more important to us to be seated by ourselves.

If you aren't seated alone most likely it will be with other couples of a similar age rather than a family with children.

I usually cruise alone and on my past three Disney Cruises I requested a table by myself and got it each time. I'm sure you shouldn't have any problems.

Other than when I've been linked with fellow DIS'ers or family, we've never been seated with children, but with couples our own age or families with only adult children along. In 14 cruises, we've been seated by ourselves twice, but have never asked to be seated alone, it just happens.

We have been on the Dream twice (we don't have children) and we were seated with three other couples both times. It is a crapshoot, but it works out.

I really enjoyed the 2 couples my husband and I were seated with at dinner on out honeymoon. That said, it might have been better if we were with couples our own age. I was 29, my husband...younger. We were seated with 4 retirees.

That's too bad. We were seated with couples fairly close to our ages both times. Hopefully, you get seated with couples closer in age should you cruise again!

We've lucked out on both of our Disney cruises..first one (just DH&I) we were seated with 2 other couples about our age who were very nice.. and our cruise last month with our adult son we were seated with another couple and their adult son and we really enjoyed dining with them every nite. We became very good friends and there were tears&hugs our last meal saying good-bye. Disney has done a great job pairing us up at dinner..OP I think you will be fine

When dh & I cruised the Dream just the 2 of us, we requested a table for 2 & a specific server. Both requests were granted. It was actually a table that seated 4 but just us seated there. We were on main dining.

I've seen a lot of people say that requests can be added to a reservation.

I'm assuming you just call the general DCL number? Or is there a specific number to call for dining requests?

Thanks in advance!!

Just call the regular number and tell them what you want to request.
