Woo Hoo! February 2014 here we come!

I didn't see a thread for February 2014 already so I decided to start one. I was surprised not to see one already.

My son's high school band will be marching at WDW and so we will be tagging along! I can't wait! I have been dreaming about returning to WDW and now I get to have lots of fun of actually planning a real trip instead of just an imaginary one! We will be traveling the week before President's Day. Not my ideal week to go since I expect the crowds to be big but at least we are going!!!!

For anyone that has been in February before, was the weather warm enough to go swimming? What about the waterparks are they even open then? I will try to find out.

I am leaning towards a Presidents Day week trip. Yep, crazy. Trying to minimize missing school. Really nervous about cool weather and big crowds especially compared to our usual week after Thanksgiving trip. Also worried about a snowstorm causing travel problems (flying from PA). But I would be in WDW on my birthday!

Luvalprincesses, I understand your dilemma. But being in WDW on your birthday will be great! My brother and his wife went over Presidents Day a few years ago and they did say it was crowded but manageable. I am also worried about bad weather messing up our plans so I am thinking about getting travel insurance.

Have you decided where you will be staying? we haven't yet.

I would love to stay in the Epcot area for the first time. Since there probably won't be good Disney deals, I am leaning towards the teacher rate at Swan/Dolphin, which isn't usually blacked out for holiday weeks. Hoping it will be immersed enough in the Disney magic for us. If nothing else, heavenly beds and a walk/boat to Epcot and HS. I can handle a meal every day in World Showcase as a trade off for not being a full Disney resort.

The crowd level is my biggest concern, but we are rope droppers until early afternoon, then resort time and back in the evening for shows/dinner so I think we can handle it.

I should really check into room rates soon since its a common teacher holiday and it's a teacher rate; they may go fast.

I am a teacher too and have been thinking about the Swan/Dolphin as well! Just remember to add the resort daily fee to your total and car parking fee if youbwill have your car.

Being close to Epcot would be nice. I need to check out the S/D thread to see how far the walk would be to Epcot. it is definitely a resort I am considering at this time.

It is nice to have you aboard for our trip planning thread. It would be great to get a deal or FD!

H ave you run the Princess Half Marathon before? I think it would be amazing achievement!

Have you run that long of a race before?



Just think in about three and a half months we can make ADRs!

Count me in!!! Planning a Presidents Week trip! We went in 2012 over Presidents Week and had a great time!

Feel free to add me to the 2014 group! DGF and I are having out trip from 1/31/2014 to 2/08/2014, and we're counting down the days. We originally planned to stay at the AoA, and had to room booked, but my awesome boss let us use some of his DVC points for our trip. So now we're going to be staying at the BLT in a studio theme park view room! So the hype we had just got more intense!

From what I've seen regarding the weather for February in the central FL area is glorious for us northerners! mid to low 70s for the high, and low 50s for the low. Don't know how the pools will feel, though...
