I stayed in a studio at SSR fairly recently in Congress Park - they were doing renovations at the time so it is likely Congress Park is finished as this was May. I was in the building closest to DTD and furthest away from the center - so for me it was a good 15 minute walk to the Springs - and it was hot. This only became annoying when I went to Artist Point to fill up my refillable mug. On the other side it was a quick hop, skip and a jump to DTD which I really enjoyed!

The quiet pool at Congress Park is really nice - very relaxing - somewhat adult in vibe - quiet fountains, classical music. There were loads of towels available at the pool for use - I always grabbed two to use at the pool and put them in the towel bin on my way out - very convenient.

The buses were never full at Congress Park but sometimes they were standing room only at the next (and final) stop- the Springs - especially in the morning as I think many people would go to the Springs for breakfast and then board a bus to the Parks.

Have a great stay at SSR - I think it is a very relaxing resort.

We stayed at ssr a few weeks ago. We were in the grandstand section. We liked the location a lot. There is a quiet pool there, and it was maybe a 5 min walk to the main pool, carriage house, and to the boat to dtd. We were the first bus stop so we always had a seat on the bus. We never tried walking to dtd since it was a fairly long hike from our room.

We liked the resort. Very relaxing and peaceful. I would stay there again.

Good idea!

Thanks for the continued opinions, everyone!

Here is an old trip report I did in 2008 for SSR with pics. It won't help you as far as your questions, but it might give you some info anyhow.

Hi Tink-aholic (cute name!), Congrats on your Puggle! My avatar is my grandson's Puggle when she was a puppy. She's three years old now, but I love her puppy photo. :D

All the park buses stop last at the Springs. So if you don't want to walk from your section to the main building, hop a bus and get off at Springs and walk across the road.
