Any coffee tips and tricks while onboard?

I must have a decent cup of coffee in the morning and that instant stuff just turns my stomach. I've heard some horror stories regarding DCL coffee. So i'm assuming the coffee that is available is the same Nescafe garbage that they sell in the parks. Is this the same coffee that they give you if you order room service coffee? I know there is coffee available in the cove cafe for a charge. Where else have you gotten a decent cup of coffee in the morning? Has anyone brought their own? Maybe even those starbucks instant packets? Has anyone ever packed a french press or an electric kettle for the room? Thanks for your input! Shawn.

I've read that some have taken a french press onboard. Electric kettles are prohibited. You can order hot water from room service, if you want to bring your own coffee onboard.

I really think this is an area that Disney fails in (both parks and cruises). I usually end up foregoing coffee while we cruise since what they serve is just horrible . I wish they would at least offer flavored creamers, which might mask the lousy coffee a little bit . Now that Starbucks is available in the parks, they might bring it onboard, but truthfully I think Starbucks is very overrated (much too bitter for me). I'd like to find a way to bring my own coffee when we cruise, but so far, no luck. Are you listening, Disney??? Please upgrade your coffee!!!

That french press idea is super. We have a plastic one for camping, and that has gone right onto the list of items to bring!

While Starbucks is getting some showing in the parks, many of the restaurants have moved from Nescafe to Joffreys (much better!). I'm hoping this becomes a company wide trend

It seemed to me the coffee in the restaurants on board was better than the coffee at the free drink station. The coffee at the drink station was pretty bad, but I didn't mind the coffee that was served at breakfast? Not sure if it was just because it was fresher bad coffee or if there was really any difference.

Bad Coffee

I believe Disney has a long contract with Coke and Nescafe is a Coke product so they will probably continue to serve it

When at WDW, I fill my mug with Hot Chocolate (never fills to the top) and then add some coffee. Tastes much better.

The Hot Chocolate is much too sweet if you don't add coffee-tried that one morning as I was sharing with my niece. Too bad I didn't try it before getting in line for the bus as I could have added some water to it.

A French press would be a great idea. Just bring a small one and maybe half a pound of my favorite ground roast and I'm good to go. Should taste a lot better than those instant coffees. But then again the Starbucks via packets aren't all that bad especially compared to Nescafé

I bring Starbuck's Via packs and just add it to hot water. I know it is instant, but it is better than the Nescafe
