I personally hope she will become a permanent princess. She teaches girls bonds between family and strength to overcome social norms.
I don't think either are going anywhere anytime soon. Tiana's still hanging around too, though that movie doesn't get the attention it deserves in my opinion.

I just saw it last night, and I can say that I didn't enjoy it as much as other Pixar films. That being said, I did like it, especially Merida and the overall beauty of the film.

I was surprised at the scary scenes. I thought it was a pretty intense movie for kids, and didn't offer as many cute kid moments. It felt like a Disney movie for adults.

Never saw Tangled. I was planning to see Brave, but dislike the plot device of the angry daughter turning the mom into a bear. Bear almost kills the dad and then mom becomes the symbol of terror? I don't care how sappy happy the ending is. I'll pass.

Please edit your post to remove spoilers. That would be considerate to those who haven't seen it yet.

I don't think that is an accurate description of how the story goes down at all.

Agreed! Thought it was cute, but much darker, more intense movie for kids. I had a scared 4 year old in many parts of the movie.

Spoiler alert!

Although I have to admit, a teenage girl who doesn't want an arranged marraige having a fight with her mother (and all the unexpected twists and mistakes made along the way of her stubborness) is something many kids suffer with - what their folks want, what they want, not seeing eye to eye, not understanding each other etc. A loving mother and headstrong talented independent daughter, no man necessary for instant happiness - when family and love win the day?!

However, I better sign off because I am terribly biased - I LOVE the Scottish princess idea!

That's probably why the movie was rated PG, not G.

So I guess I can pass on going now?

Thanks. Not.

Shockingly, some folks have not seen it yet.

We saw it yesterday too. I can't say anything that I didn't like about it, I just felt like it was lacking a little. Just didn't seem up to par with some of the latest Disney/Pixar movies. I agree Merida is an awesome character though.

I lOved the movie and so did both of my kids; yes, there was a scary part, but I dot think it was worse than snow white, sleeping beauty or princess and the frog
