It is fun. However, it's probably not worth it if you don't have a lot of extra money. The view of the animals is nice, but it's not a whole lot different from what you can see from the ride; it's just longer. Little kids would find it more entertaining than just adults. My wife and I did the trek with my brother in law and his fiancée. You will definitely enjoy it, but as I said before, if you have to put it on a credit card or skip a couple of meals to make it happen, you aren't missing a whole lot.

I disagree. I did the trek June 6th an absolutely loved it- a major highlight of my vacation and I felt it was well worth the money.

I did the Wild Africa Trek in Jan. Thought it was fantastic, learned a lot, the CMs were great. Lunch was really interesting. No regrets at all and worth the cost.

We are planning for January also. How far in advance did you need to book the tour?

I called this past week to book a tour for the first week in November. They seemed to be fairly open as far as times. I'm guessing that's in part because there are no discounts available for the timeframe we were looking at.

We know one of the tour guides, so we want to wait for her work schedule before we book, so we are with her. Really looking forward to it!

I loved the Wild Africa Trek, and I agree, the guides are awesome. It's probably a once in a lifetime experience, I also agree, no regrets here. I know if this attraction went away and I had not experienced it I'd be regretting THAT.

Didn't say it wasn't enjoyable. I said it wasn't worth breaking the bank over, because let's face it -- it's not cheap!

Thinking about it too

I'm thinking about booking the Wild Anamal Trek for my trip next month. I've already called and they have plenty of availability during the 3rd week of August. If this tour was on the premium dining plan, my decision would be set, but it's not. That kinda sucks.

So how does this work how many tours are there a day if more than one which is the best time to book etc I'm going beginning of Sept for 9 nights. I really want to do it but my two DD think it's too risky they are so protective of their old mum

There are several tours starting each morning. The tour costs around $200 per person. Disney is running a special where you can save $50 by taking a tour that begins after 11:45am.

I don't agree with this AT ALL. Yes, it is expensive but worth it. You see lots more that the ride and it is more geared to adults than to small children. It was a great experience.

Just returned and wanted to say that one of the (many!) highlights of the trip was the Wild Africa Trek! We loved it!!!! One of our guides was a member of our ABD group in London/Paris this past May and she did an EXCELLENT job, along with her fellow guides. Yes, it was expensive, but it was worth it!
