I would assume you can but you would have to pay to upgrade. I am planning on doing that if I'm really unhappy with my room assignment. I booked a 7a gty.

Booked an 8B for May 4 eastern Fantasy. Assigned an 8B aft 50 days out. No extra pixie dust for us but we did love our 8B last year!

We booked in January for the 5/10 8 nt out of Galveston on the Magic. We chose to go 11c gty knowing full well that's what we'd probably end up with. Were assigned today, 54 days out with an 11C #5635. Wondering if we should have just waited. They are still offering 11c gty but don't have any more rooms (supposedly). If I were to book next week, I'd probably get a better room since they have already assigned those of us who have PIF on gty status. Thoughts?

I would assume when your assigned a cabin if there is availability within that category they could move you and it would not be an upgrade, so no upgrade fee. There are 5E staterooms with tubs, if one is available I would think they would move you.

Booked a 5C GTY on the Wonder for the 5/27/2013 Alaskan cruise. No assignment yet. On line only 4's are available for a Balcony. There are penty of Insides and Oceanviews. Happily waiting.

(But then my cruise isn't until October, so I'm not expecting anything anytime soon - and I'm fully prepared to upgrade if necessary!)

Booked an 11c GTY for 5/12 Dream. Got an 11c room 2021 assigned 57 days out. Very surprised we did not get pixie dusted because the cruise looks really full! They are not even offering rooms in several categories at this point; 11c being one of them

Booked VGT for May 10 out of Galveston. Anxiously awaiting.

Last October we booked a VGT and ended up in a nice 5B...I hope we are as blessed this time around for a nice assignment!

I booked a 7aGTY back in jan and just got my room # two days ago

room 6180 and ive been told it is an upgrade since we are first timers

any one that has any info on this room let us know !!

6180 is a cat 6B aft on deck 6. It is one category better than your 7A. Upgrades are not based on first timers, its usually based on inventory available. No one knows the windom for upgrades by DCL.

I am still waiting to hear what room we have been assigned. We booked a VGT for the Disney Dream on the 18th April departure.

Is it possible no room will be assigned until check in on the day??
