This is our first GTY. We are on the 11/21 sailing of the Dream with a 9D - just DH and I so pretty much ok with whatever we get, but hoping for something special since we are celebrating 10 years and were on the Wonder for the honeymoon!

10/13/2012 Fantasy. Booked 2 7A GTY, recieved connecting 5A on deck 10. Very happy!

Booked a 5b GTY on 8/8

On 8/31 we were assigned a 5b on Deck 7 midship. VERY HAPPY!!

Not sure if I'm asking this in the right place or not, but........

We are sailing the Fantasy in June 2013. In one room we have 3 people, in the other we have 4. We've been having a hard time finding a cabin to fit 4 of us....

So, at the suggestion of DCL, we have an inside category 11A room for the 3. Our other cabin is a 6B GTY. The DCL agent said this would be the "cheaper" and best way to hopefully end up close to one another. But if I recall correctly there are not even any Cat. 6B on deck 8 (which is where our other stateroom is located). She said DCL will do their best to get us as close to one another as they can, since our reservations are linked.....What's the likelihood of us ending up across the hall from on another (although those staterooms are categories 4 and 5)?

Anyone else experienced this type of situation?

We are on a 6a GTY for the 10/28 sailing of the Wonder. I don't think we will get our cabin assignment until we are at check-in.

I LOVED reading through this thread to see what others get. We'd be happy with a 6a so that is what we paid for, anything above that would be a bonus.

I had selected a room, 8B 9162, same one we had on our last cruise, but as of today we have switched to 4D GTY. There's a new FL rate for our cruise, so we're getting a 4D for $648 less than our 8B.

We've never done GTY. Don't know what to expect...

I am so glad I found this thread. I couldn't remember what category GTY I was so I logged in to check. Lo and behold, WE HAVE A ROOM!! woo hoo! We are on the 12/9 sailing of the Dream and we booked as GTY 8A and we received the same level. Now off to find the thread with reviews of our room.

first post, but i had been stalking this thread for a while.


didn't know what GTY was when i booked it. booked for october 20 fantasy in june, GTY for an oceanview (can't remember category). i was checking it daily for a room reservation and saw the opportunity to upgrade to a navigator's verandah... turned out that was a GTY as well!!!

got my room assignment a few days ago, 7A GTY and got 7A. one of the re-categorized rooms.

When I booked for this upcoming cruise, I was given a room #6015. I was told that there were no GTY rooms available, so I booked. I keep checking to see if I get upgraded...do you know when I'll find out? We sail 10/28. I am really worried that an inside room will drive me bonkers. I loved having a view last time.

Very good to know!! I'll start checking Tuesdays too.

Here's what I did I booked back in may I believe . I am sailing October 14th of this year. Now in July I changed my state room thru my TA for personal reasons. I emailed my TA last week and she said she still don't know nothing. So the other day I was adding excursions to my trip thru the DCL web site and low and behold ther was my state room number 9026 . SO that might be a way to find out your stateroom . Hope this helps

mine was just shy of 45 days out. what ship are you on? even with an inside room you might still have an "ocean view" via the magic porthole??
