We had 9162 on the Dream and loved how convenient it was to Cabanas. It seemed like a long walk to the MDR's, but we needed the exercise after all that food anyway.

We were also in 6190 at the end of the Dream on our cruise last year and will be again this year. I loved the location - quick access via stairs (and even the elevators) to everything we needed. It was quiet, and we love the views of Castaway and Nassau from there. DCL has since upgraded the category. The only time I really noticed how far it was to the front of the ship was when I walked the hall where it is only staterooms. We could feel the docking but it didn't bother us. Heck, it did wake us up but then we got up and didn't feel like we wasted our cruise sleeping. Would continue to book here if available.

We were in #10662 on the Dream in September and we will be in #10664 this September and we love being on the back of the ship not as much foot traffic and the elevators aren't nearly as crowded as mid ship. There was a vibration when we docked but we had the same vibration (if not worse) when we were on the Wonder on deck 7 (Navigator Verandah). From now on we will only be booking as far Aft as we can get the view at Castaway is AMAZING!!!

We were in 10662 the last week of May and LOVED it!! I told my husband that I don't know that I could go back to a regular balcony after being spoiled by that one! It was great that it was only 1 quick set of stair up to Cabanas and if you needed to take the elevator it was super quick compared to using the mid-ship elevators!

We had an inside room Aft last year on the Dream. I felt the same way, the vibrations woke us up in the am and we considered it our alarm clock to get up and get the day started! The extra walking is just that....more erercise to walk off that extra dessert or cocktail! We have aft again this time, leaving this Sat. It was a VGT room, so we had no idea where we would be. We have an aft room that has a smaller balcony and a view from the back of the ship. Although I'm disappointed in the room, the price we paid was for an inside room, so I cannot be too unhappy! I cannot wait to see the view backing into Castaway Cay! (after the vibrations wake me up!)

We have stayed aft on both the Dream and Fantasy (just last week - Cabin 6668). Outside of when docking at a port, I really cannot say I noticed any vibrations. When they dock and use the thrusters and reverse the propellers the whole ship vibrates, so I don't think that should be a big concern.

Advantages - virtually never have to wait for an elevator (I avoid mid-ship elevators like the plague); one floor down and short walk to the kid's clubs; two floors down to the bars; three floors down to Animators and Royal Court.

Cons - elevators dump right into Cabanas. Still the most odd thing in the design.

If I have to go from aft to mid or forward I always either go to 4 and walk outside or up to 11 and along the pool deck. Way better than the narrow and twisting hallways.

i'll second the agreement with the cabanas dump. i always felt strange when it was closed and we had to walk through.

but back to the post. we were as aft as you could get on deck 8. loved it. yes, occasionally we felt vibration but it was not all that much, not really noticeable. what i found strange was if we walked from the adult area down to through cabanas to the elevator it felt like it took no time but if we took the stairs or elevator from the adult area down to eight and walked to our cabin through the cabin hallway it seemed to take for ever. i hated doing that. don't ask me what the difference is except perception i guess.
i rebooked aft for our next two cruises.

fantasy 6032 and 6034

Has anyone stayed in either of these 2 rooms? Fantasy 6032 or 6034? These are the rooms we have booked for our first Disney cruise. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. What are the pros and cons of this room location?

We will be in 8174 on Fantasy in Sept-so glad you posted this, I've been concerned about the location..I don't mind the walking at all, I would have worried about the vibrations but you didn't mention any, so it must be ok!

We were in 9172 on the Dream.. and love it.. The verandah was a nice size, and the walk was not bad at all (except to the laundry room, at the other end!) I'd do it again, and have booked 7634 on the Wonder for next Feb!

Hmmm now I am rethinking! I can get a 7a for just $300 more than my 11a and having a verandah in the carribean would be heaven for me!!!!

on the eighth floor the laundry room is aft, so you would have the option of going down one floor to use the laundry. I have not checked but I wonder if the laundry rooms alternate fore and aft this way on alternating floors.

HUGE fans of the Aft location here!! We stayed 9672 in Nov on the Dream and booked the same room for our June 2013 cruise Yes, there are some vibrations and noises when going into port, but the stairs and elevators are right there AND the view as you come into port at Castaway Cay is just about worth the $$ for the whole cruise!
