Question Hotel Help? Portofino / Holiday Inn / Candy Cane?

I usually hate it when people ask for help on deciding on a place to stay, but now I find myself in that situation!
Our group will be me & DH, DD (2), MIL, & FIL (mobility issues, can walk fine, just not for a long time).
Due to FIL's knees/back I am looking to stay somewhere with either a shuttle or access to the ART line.
I was looking at the Portofino, but recent reviews are not that good, and they don't have mini-fridges in the Queen Rooms.
So I was looking at the Holiday Inn that is near the DL Hotel, but their reviews lately haven't been that stellar either.
And now I'm thinking about Candy Cane Inn .... or???

Our wants/needs: Parking for 2 cars, wi-fi, either connecting rooms or a suite (I'm leaning more towards connecting rooms, I really don't want to sleep in the same room as the in-laws or on a pull out couch which is what most Suites have to offer). Fridge in the room is a must, microwave would be a plus. Budget is $100-$150 a night.
We have AAA, entertainment book, and potential Retired Military Discount, or State Gov't discounts (I'm a county employee) available to us.

TIA!

Have you looked at Embassy Suites South? It's in the Art line. Shoot, just saw no suite, or prefer that. What about residence inn 2 br suite? More privacy, it's next to embassy suites

I'm looking at that one now, thank you for the suggestion. I wish these hotels would put floor plans up on their websites!!

Try Desert Inn & Suites, it's right across the street.

Great prices and a few different kinds of suites to choose from and they have floor plans and photos.
