DH, myself and our 2 DD's (13 and 16) will be stopping in San Francisco for one day before continuing on to the Fresno area for a mission trip. We've seen SF before, but we will have DD's friend along, who has never been to SF. Time will be short, but we'd like to at least show her the GG bridge and some highlights of the city. We were thinking of doing a 4-hour afternoon tour and then getting a bite to eat before catching the BART back to our SFO hotel. Any advice on a good tour company or casual place to eat an early dinner? Thanks!

There are several hop on/hop off bus tours that allows you to get on and off and wander around the main tourist attractions.
I'd use Yelp and or Trip Advisor Our favorite meal would be at the Washington St. Bakery and Restaurant in China town, on Washington St. We just love it

We live here, but my boys (7 and 9) and I did the big red double decker bus tour one day last year. You can see pretty much a lot of the highlights that way - hop on, hop off. Maybe pick one museum (we spent a few hours at the Exploratorium). Easy and fun!

Thanks for the replies. We ended up booking a 4-hour tour with Golden West Tours. It worked out really well for us. We were the only people on the tour, so we could spend as much or as little time at each stop as we wanted. Since our time in SF was so limited, we decided to use it for touring, and waited with dinner until we got back to our hotel. Looking forward to returning to SF some day when we have more time!
