Anyone used WDW tickets for DL?

I was reading on the DL board you can use your unexpired WDW tickets for DL and as we are flying from WDW straight to LA I realized if I add a day to our tickets I can do this It will only cost me $17 each to add the day we are at WDW for 12 days so we fall in the 14 day period and we are planning on going straight there on the Fri night because I am imagining the Sat/Sun will be extra busy since its the first weekend the park will be decorated. Has anyone used this option?

Yes, I did this a few years ago. I had one day left from our non-expiring WDW tickets from 1997. I used it at DL in 2007. The CM at the turnstile had to take the ticket somewhere to confirm the validity. Took about 5 minutes.

thanks for that I have been reading everything I coul find on it and we decided it was worth adding the extra day to use it at DL but now we are just getting the 10 day non expiring anyway.
