We're two adults staying at POP in a standard room from Sept 10th-17th (8 days/7 nights). We used the free dining promotion and upgraded to the regular DDP. We have 7 day WP&M tickets.

Room, Tickets, Dining: $1,681.50

We also purchased MNSSHP tickets for the Sept 14th party.

Party Tickets for 2 adults: $119.18

We're taking Southwest out of Philadelphia International Airport.

Airline Tickets for 2: $539.20

We also plan on doing the Dreams Unlimited 2-day/2-park Universal Deal with roundtrip transportation.

Dreams Unlimited Universal Package for 2: $319.98

We're also budgeting some extra money for tips, alcoholic drinks, food at Universal, souvenirs, etc. Although this is a very high number and I'm not planning on actually spending this much.

Extra money for misc.: $1,000

Total for trip: $3,659.86

Since DBf and I are splitting the cost of the trip its going to be $1,829.93 for each of us at the end of the day.

Disney on the cheap.

2 adults. Sept. 16-21. 5 nights, 6 days at Pop with 5 day non-hopping MYW tickets and free dining which i upgraded to regular DDP WITH travel insurance = $1362.14.

2 MNSSHP party tickets on Sept. 21 = $119.18

Fuel cost (driving from VA in a very fuel-effecient car!) = $250

GRAND TOTAL = $1,731.32

Not bad for a Disney vacation, eh?

This is what we are paying for our stay Aug 22-25 for 2 adults, dd 9 and ds 5.
  • 4 nights/5days at POFQ
  • Dining plan (not quick service the one with 1 TS)
  • 5 day park hoppers
For a total of $2576.10
Airfare $1076.00

So a grand total of $3652.10

We were hoping to do it for less than $3000 but dh didn't want to stay at a value yet. He is used to the Poly CL, so this will be something new to him.

- Room @ CSR for 8 nights: $1,624.50 (originally $2,030.64, but we were able to get a 25% discount not too long ago! woohoo)
- Airfare for 2 from NY to FL: $999.00
- Rental car for 9 days: $508.12

Not sure how much we will be needing for extra park tickets (we each already have 4 day park hoppers) .. as well as Universal tickets.

Oh well .. it's vacation

2 Adults

Room only at the Poly with 40% off discount from Aug 12 - Aug 25th (13 nights)

$3680 room

We purchased 2 AP's last saturday before price went up.

$1105

Airfare---we are using points on AT leaving so there was no cost (we paid for that already throughout the year by accumulating the points.

Coming home flight---$127 each x 2 = $254

We hope to keep the spending to about $1,500 which would include food and souvenoirs.

Total est for us is---+/- $6,500.

The next 2 times we go to WDW, Nov 2012 and August 2013, we wont have the cost of the AP.

Another good thing is we owe only $1,100 on the room and we have about $500 cash stashed away as our spending money already...so another $2,100 and we are "good to go".

We usually make deposits throughout the year, especially after xmas is over with, to try and "ease the pain" of paying all at once.

Its kinda high...BUT we enjoy our time together on vacation and its worth every penny.

Hello fellow Edmontonian I was wondering, have you booked your flights yet? I too looked for deals for over a Yr.... And all those flights seem to do is go up and up!!!! I ended up booking our outbound flights with West Jet during a short sale they had for flights at $229 ea instead of the $289 they where sticking at forever! I booked our return flights home with Air Canada, with a 15% off pin I got in the email at Christmas! I am glad I booked when I did because our flights are now $2700 for the same times/dates! We managed to get 3 flights for around $1950.....crazy how they have doubled practically from 18 months ago! I hope you have Good luck with getting a good deal!

We haven't bought yet - but I'm watching closely - prices normally come down in a week or so for flying in Sept. Though if, in March, we'd known we were going we'd have purchased (our flights would have been $2000 for 4). In the past we've purchased at around 80 days out and found the lowest prices - so we'lls ee.

Oh and I buy through expedia - always cheaper than direct, even with sales.

The flights actually really haven't gone up in cost in the past 10 years. 10 years ago I paid $700 per person, now I pay between $400 and $650 per person (including taxes and fees). However the fees have gone up considerably. The biggest thing is to know when to purchase - often the farther out you purchase, the higher the cost - except for the occasional sweet deal. However even those sweet deals turn into less than desirable b/c they switch flights around so instead of having perfect times, you end up on the red-eye! I've spent a lot of time negotiating to get decent times back after they switch my flight - I will not pay more to keep the time I originally booked.

Oh and you're best bet is to avoid Toronto (and other Canadian cities) do customs in Edmonton for the best travel experience.

Well, our first trip we flew UNITED, 4 ppl for $900 approx. (Never flying United// US carrier again!) Then 2009 paid about $1200 for 4, with AirCanada , in $2011,paid about $350 PP, and this year(2012)paid about $650 PP.....so quite the jump for us! I dnt want to do the red eye this Yr, so we chose to fly West Jet into Toronto the night before, and then catch the next morning to arrive refreshed and at a decent hour in Orlando the next afternoon ( arrive at 1:12pm)..... I'd rather do this than wait 5 hrs in Toronto airport after a redeye!

Always tough when looking back!!!

So we didn't get any deals and we did alot of extras!! This was only our second trip. I tried to find deals but we were planning specific dates in April which seemed to be non-discounted and I couldn't get a pin no matter how many times I called!!!

Family of 4 - 3 Disney adults

Airfare $1077.6
Hotel at airport before departure $150
POR ROYAL GUEST ROOM 10 nights + 7 day base tickets $3518.12
Dining plan (1TS, 1QS, 1snack) $1696.40

Extras
- surfing at Typhoon Lagoon $600 (worth every penny!!)
- pirates & pals cruise $205
- hoop dee doo (pd OOP) $240
- ticket upgrade for WF+M $234.29 (fun but not likely a repeat)
- horse & carriage ride $50
- Surrey bikes $40 (? Approx.)

Tips, Souvenirs & other spending - estimate $1000

$8,811.41

We had a great trip, timing was what we could manage and we are blessed that we could afford this adventure! I do not look back with any regret! There are things we will do differently next time to make the trip less costly but this was worth it!

I am not including our Garden Grocer order because we would have spent that money at home anyhow!

Next trip... We are going to purchase a Disney gift card and reload if needed to cover meals and tips etc. We did not feel the dining plan was worth the money spent! Unless it is free we will not do it again.
