Not scary at all to me. I have you so beat in the spending department. I am fortunate to have a job where I can earn extra income, but I hate working. I do love vacations so I suck it up and work. Don't feel bad I am sure there are others on here like us. I agree the memories are worth it.

*2 Adults and 1 Child*
-8 nights at Pop Century with free quick service dining upgraded to the regular dining plan with 8 day base tickets-$2033.45, going to add a day onto our tickets though since we were originally not planning on going to a park on our arival day, but since our flight lands in Orlando at 10am, we decided to go ahead and make it a park day
-Flights from Indianapolis-$937.20 (could have gotten them cheaper, but paid more for non-stop and early arrival flight and late departure flight)

We have a few out of pocket meals planned. Sci-Fi, San Angel Inn, and Boma breakfast. That's about all the money we will spend, aside from tips of course. Oh yeah, and the pirate's league is scheduled.

I'm guessing we will end up around $3600 total.

Our kids (4-year-old twins) have been overheard explaining to friends: 'Mommy & Daddy have to work in the store... so we can get money to go to Disney!'

Cheers,

We're seriously thinking about going back next year. It'll cost over $6,000 just to get there though

We're going in August (hopefully)

My DW and I were planning on going in August, but our trip is now in jeopardy because we may have to buy a car instead I hate to be too down about it, because my wife and I have went the last few years. BUT, it still stinks if we can't go. We both get so excited to go, like each trip is our first.

Anyways, we booked in April. Here's the deets of our potential trip:
2 adults
8/24 to 8/31
8 Days at POP Century Standard room
6 Day MYW with PH
Travel insurance 139.90
First night room only 84.26
Free QSDP for rest of trip 1311.84

Airfare from Grand Rapids, Mich. with one layover: 530.40
Total 2066.40

If we do have to cancel, luckily we purchased travel insurance from WDWTC. We originally got it in case a hurricane was going to impact our late August trip (usually we go in July)

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get such cheap airfare? I guess ours is only $100 more a piece and is out of AZO instead of GRR but $530 round trip is pretty decent IMO.

Thanks to this thread, I nearly chocked when I posted how much our trip was going to cost. For a variety of reasons, we decided to scale back a bit.

So, now our vacation is going to cost approximately $9000.00. We are booking most of it with travel reward points though... but I am trying to avoid taking any OOP.

My only trip this year will be a shorty. Surprising DW with a weekend getaway Nov. 30-Dec.2. Two nights in AOA lil mermaid (she will love it) because we are only there roughly 8 hours, I don't care where we crash. Deluxe Dining, airfare from Saint Lou. Segway tour. One day one park. All for the tidy of sum of $1800. Not a bad weekend.

Spent $10,00 last year to take MIL and my mom with us to AKL 1bed villa.
Changed jobs so having to do it much cheaper this year.

AOA LM room with 10 day tickets $3800. 11/22-12/2
MVCP tickets $245.

Got 100,000 rewards points for getting Southwest credit card for DH and I so flights FREE!

Quite an improvement over last year

Honestly, we had just been very aggressively looking, and we got just plain lucky since we usually book airfare in January for a summer trip. My wife found that rate directly on United's website. She has found looking and booking on Tuesday afternoons to be the best price given.

Hi kiwitinkerbell! We are paying $6633 ($U.S @ $5000) for 2 adults and 1 child to fly to Orlando. Really wish America was closer Although I'm pretty sure we paid more than that 2 years ago to only go to L.A so its not too bad. Really wish I was interested in the Gold Coast or Fiji but that's just not going to happen
