I've yet to book anything (will do once Air Tran's November schedule comes out in a couple weeks), but our annual vacation budget is $2,000, so I'm trying to keep it as close to that as possible

Nov 24 - Nov 30
Just me and DH

DVC Rental (Boardwalk Villas or Old Key West Villa): $768
Flights: $420
Quick Service Dining Plan: $420
Park Tickets (going to Universal for one day): $620 (approx.; not sure exactly how many days I'll be buying just yet)
Extras (van to Universal, food at Universal and at airport; airport parking, etc.): $120

Total: $2,348 - obviously hoping to shave off a bit to come in at budget

---1 adult staying 4 nights at ASSports, June 4 - June 8 at AP rate = $466.48
---park tickets = $235 (for 5 pro-rated days on annual pass)
---airline ticket = $0 (used reward points)
---food, tips, souvenirs = $300
---minus $100 credit from Disney Visa card

Total for 5 park days/4 nights = $901

This trip would have been even cheaper had I been able to go a couple weeks later in June when the room rates go down for a special offer or if I wanted to deal with Free Dining but I don't!
Check out my Disney pics here!

We are going

Nov 29 to Dec 8
CBR with a POTC themed room
6 day base ticket.
The cost is $4288.11

We haven't booked our airfare yet as SW still hasn't opened up the rest of the year until next month. I'd like to compare SW with JB first before deciding which airline.

However, when all is said and done, our package will be almost $1400 We've been part of a vacation bowling league for 2 years now. Once we end on June 10, we'll have a total of $1500 credits saved with the travel agent that runs the league (that's both years combined). All of that money is being applied to our package cost. Couple that with free dining which will save us about $1300 more for my family of 3 and that brings our package price down. Currently, we don't have a pin code, so we'll either have to wait until we get one or when FD is released to the GP (which ever comes first).

So our breakdown is this:

Package: $4288.11
Minus Bowling league credits: $1500.00
Sub Total for new balance: $2688.11
Minus free dining cost: $1391.58
Final Balance Due: $1396.60
Since we are arriving the day before Pop Warner, we will be able to have free dining for our entire stay! Can't beat it !

2011 Oct 22-29
Me, DW, DD2, DD1, & My Parents on our first WDW trip since having kids
Offsite + Park Hoppers + Fly from Memphis
Total: $2272.01 (used some cc rewards pts, parents picked up more than their share)

2012 May 4-7
Me & DW go to Harry Potter World (and end up at WDW because we can't stay away LOL)
Offsite + Universal Hoppers + WDW APs + Fly from Memphis
Total: $1439.84 (used some cc rewards pts)

2012 Sept 21-30
Me, DW, DD3, DD2, DS6mo go back to WDW
Offsite + APs + Drive from Memphis
Total: ~$2384.53 (using some cc rewards pts)

2012 Dec 14-18
Me & DW celebrate our 6th Anniversary at WDW
Possibly onsite + APs (hoping for good AP discounts) + Fly from Memphis
Total: ~$1795-$2305 (no cc rewards)

2013 Apr TBD
Me, DW, DD4, DD2, DS1 go back to WDW and squeeze every last penny out of our APs
Offsite + APs + Drive from Memphis
Total: ~$2739.54 (no cc rewards)

For us, the high cost of flying out of Memphis, plus the general hassle of taking little ones through security, has ruled out flying with the kids. We'd rather stay offsite and go more often than pay the premium to stay onsite.

24 days and nights at WDW this october, a split stay between a studio at BWV and SSR. Add into the equation a business class intercontinental flight and you get a total that is painfully high. Around €4100,- Already bought an annual pass on my december 2011 trip, so no costs there. Next add on €200,- for specialised travel insurance for medical equipment with a total value of €30.000,- , some $$$$ for a great gift for parents (budget sponsors, transfers to/from airport and great people) and some money for shopping and food.

Luckily I was able to score a very competative price on both ticket and stay, but still very expensive. Trying not to think about it too much anymore since budget was taken care off and just focus on it being the last trip. Oh and let's not forget the one time increase of coverage on part of my continues travel insurance to cover the higher than usual budget of about €25,-. Hopefully not needed but with a serious risk of my health agenda demanding rescheduling a much welcome costincrease.
Does it really work that way? Doors closing, windows opening, can you really allways count on that? I'll just continue to wish, hope and pray to make sure. Knock on wood, one, twice and trice. Still can't believe it, I really get to visit Mickey again..........

Always keep wishing, dreaming and hoping.

Beyond greatfull for so many WDW trips, dear friendship and even a dlrp wish trip in october 2014 to close the Disney chapter. Lifes come and go, memories last for ever.

I'm jealous at the inexpensive airfare some of you have gottten! We are in ND and it costs a small fortune ($475 + bag fees) for each of the six of us to fly down.

I just realized through this thread that since my first trip in 2008 when I was bitten by the WDW love bug, I have spent about $33,000 on feeding my LOVE for Disney!!!
2008, Trip 1) sharing hubby's leave from Afghanistan in the World was $9,000,
Trip #2) 2009 12 days with our friends about $10,000,
Trip #3) Mom and Son Only Trip $5,000 and finally, this
trip #4) Me, My 2 boys (16/19) and my BFF.....approx $9,000
it looks scary on paper.....but memories have brought immesurable joy!

I am extremely thankful for my PT job allows me to work for the funds to pay for these trips! A large part of our expense is crazy airfare costs from Edmonton, Alberta Canada....which sucks about $600-$700 PP out of our pockets for airfare! Wish we had access to the amazing flight deals from US airports....due to the expense of the trips, it will probably be at least 2 yrs before I get back again I will miss my favourite happy place in the meantime!!!
Thanks Kook
