This is the first time that I am starting a fish extender thread so please add feedback of what I am missing.

Welcome to our Western Fantasy Jan 5, 2013 FE thread, if you want to participate let me know and I will add you to the list.

Fish Extenders are a fun activity for the entire family to participate in while on your Disney cruise. Each participating family makes or buys a FE to hang outside your stateroom door. Each FE has at least one pocket for gifts to be left in, most have multiple pockets, one for each member of the family. Either one is perfectly acceptable. There are tons of pictures available online for you to get ideas. Also if you would prefer to buy your FE check out sites like ETSY and ebay. As for the gifts that are put in your FE they are either handmade or purchased. Don't break the bank with the gifts it is the thought that counts. Gifts can be anything you can think of, candy, pencils, magnets, etc. The gifts can be personalized to each individual or family in a stateroom or generic. You can gift as many times as you would like to on the cruise or just once, there is no set of rules. If I missed anything about FE's and the gifts let me know.

So if you are interested in participating I would like the following information:

Ages and gender of kids, tweens, and teens in your stateroom (if you are comfortable giving your real age that is great too):\

Robb, Laura, Garrett, and Kate will be celebrating cruise #2 and Vickie and Brooke will be celebrating first Disney cruise.

Do we know how many people will be in our group? Can we set a number possibly so that we can go ahead and start to purchase things as we see them?

We should set a limit to our group, I have never done this before so I am open to suggestions on when to cap it. Also we need to decide on a closing date so everybody has time to make/ order their gifts. I have noticed that other groups close 2 months prior to their cruising date. What does everybody think about closing ours on Nov. 5, 2012?

Hopefully someone who has done one before will chime in with some advice because I have not participated in one before, so I am .... but excited to participate!

I was thinking about that this morning after going through other fish extender threads, I think we could probably just add that as a category and have everybody answer that question. So what are Jeff, Jeffrey, Emily and your favorite characters?

We have done several FE's over the years. Some were just a few (less than 20) and one was over a 100. They have all been fun.

One thing I have noticed about this board is that people join up in the last days before any cruise so closing at any time is still hard. We have tried to plan for a few extras each trip when we do our FE items.
