Draco
Anyone else in the path of the blizzard Draco? We are expecting 6-12 inches with upto 50 mph winds tonight. Think tomorrow will be a good day for baking some more cookies!

It's Gonna Be a White Christmas!
We are smack dab in the middle, too. We're supposed to get 12 inches if we're lucky, but probably more than that. Blizzard warnings for tomorrow. All area schools have cancelled for tomorrow, some of them started announcing that around noon today. And it's supposed to be very windy on Friday, too, so there may still be a blizzard even with no new snow falling.
Btw, I still chuckle a little that the winter storms are now being named

Ha, I hovered over your thread because I didn't know what Draco was - didn't realize it was the name of the storm! Yes, we are getting it now and have blizzard warnings. We are expecting school to be closed tomorrow but no word yet.
DD18 was supposed to fly out to MD early tomorrow and her flight was cancelled this am. I'm glad because she would have been flying through it to Chicago and I knew she'd have ended up stuck somewhere. Luckily, she got the text and was home to re-book her flight to Friday before everything filled up. We are planning to stay put with plenty of milk and groceries and will make cookies tomorrow!

Me and the kids were laughing and saying the same thing. Sorrty for people getting hit but I just love the name.

We're expecting the wind, but not much in the way of snow.

We're only supposed to get 1-3 inches with some possible ice, but the southern girl in me is fighting the urge to stock up on bread and milk.

I'm assuming this is the one hitting the Midwest right now. I hadn't heard of the storm referred to by a name.
Anyways, we're expected to get 9-16 inches, and school is already cancelled for tomorrow!

They started naming bigger storms (snow, rain, etc...) last year or this year. It's just a "TV" thing.
Anyway, I'm in Pittsburgh and I saw this morning 2-4". When the weatherman says that, it usually means we'll be lucky to see flurries.

I'm in NW PA and we are supposed to be hit with winds and up to 15 inches starting tomorrow. I'm headed to the store soon to get groceries and I'm sure it will be mobbed there. We rarely find out if our schools are closed until a few hours before they are supposed to start.
