Leaving for the airport in 11 hours and 43 minutes, not that I'm watching the clock tick or anything.

LOL Its my first trip to this resort, my friends did one night room only last year. Its going to be interesting with 4 adults in one room, but I'm sure we'll have a blast. I'll be online off and on so if anyone has anything they need me to check, let me know.

How long are you staying? The reason I ask is that we will be three adults next September and I'm waffling between POFQ and POR. The only thing keeping me from POFQ is the pool, which I'm not crazy about. I know we can use POR's, but if we do that, we might as well stay there. If you use the pool, I'd be interested to know your take on it.

we are checking in in 13 days! i read that across the street from DTD there is a hess station where we could buy water. the thread was a little old so I was curious if anyone knew if this was still available. also if its walking distance from DTD. I was thinking of doing this instead of shipping just a case of water from walmart, because this seems more cost effective. thanks in advance!

I don't know if it is still there and everyone values their time and effort differently but to me I would much prefer to pay 97 cents shipping than spending a minimum of 20 minutes/half hour and then having to lug a case of water on the bus back to the resort.

Correct, fax is the resort's preferred option. Room assignments are handled by a single team for the combined POR and POFQ resort (they are based backstage over at POR in fact) and the Port Orleans team does read their faxes, despite what some people might say about other resorts.

Andre

Thanks for the info Andre. I assumed with the new reservation. System all resorts stopped doing faxes. I just have my requests on my reservation. Would sending a fax still be better then having requests on reservation?

I would do both, but rest assured that the Port Orleans room assignment team definitely DO read guest faxes. See http://www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php.

so i think you may be right that it would be easier to ship water to the resort then to go to the HESS near DTD. Now my other question is, we arrive on 10/13. how long will POFQ hold my shipment? how many days in advance should i order it? Thanks.

Thank god I found these boards!

They'll hold it for some time if necessary, but ideally aim to get it there within about a week of your arrival.

Ok. Thanks. We love Riverside mansion section, but are trying FQ this January.

Has anyone been lately? What kind of toiletries do they have? Is it still the shampoo/conditioner combo?

It is the H2O brand with an orange scent. The shampoo and conditioner were separate.

Is there bar soap, or is it bodywash? I know it's a stupid question, but I just love that stuff!
