Question Christmas at WDW without MVMCP??

We are booked for AKL and it's our first trip to Disney during the holidays. We arrive 12/27 so we are missing MVMCP (ends the 21st).
  • What kind of decorations will be up?
  • Can we expect to see the holiday Illuminations still?
  • What about snow on Main Street?
  • Special fireworks shows?
  • Candlelight Processional?
  • Festival of Lights?
We will be in the World for NYE as well. Any and all tips/info are appreciated!

TIA!

6- Yes. "Osborne Lights" at DHS
Epcot's "Lights of Winter" have long been discontinued.
7- Epcot is usually considered "the" NYE park of choice.

Castle "Ice/Dream Lights" will still be up at MK.
Christmas Parade will be the afternoon parade at MK.
DAK will offer Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade.
All of the Epcot Holiday Storytellers will still be going.

You won't miss anything. Everything is up until New Years' Day. Also you get to see the MVMCP without an add'l ticket. It runs all week btw Christmas and New Years!

What do you mean? I thought you had to buy an extra ticket for it? The WDW website lists the parties as ending on Dec. 21.

disneymomjcs mistakenly used the MVMCP abbreviation
because she is talking about seeing the Christmas PARADE... not the party.

Gotta watch those tricky abbreviations!

I see posters get caught, too, in discussions about "SM" at Magic Kingdom.
Very confusing.

So the Christmas parade runs all week between Christmas and NYE?

Yes.
On the day following the final MVMCParty, the Christmas Parade replaces the regular afternoon parade at MK.

You will be FINE without the party!

Actually, you're going the time I've always wanted to go... while we love the party and go at Thanksgiving every year... I would love to be there for when you are! My fav things about the party are the Holiday Wishes fireworks - and the Christmas parade - and when you go the parade will be daily, as well as Holiday Wishes. I'd much rather go then and see the fireworks and parade multiple days - without having to pay so much extra for a party ticket.... plus you get NYEve fireworks, too!

So the only reason for attending this party on Dec 21 would be if this is your last day in WDW and you won't be able to see it during the following days? What about beating the crowds, as I do remember the Halloween party to be somehow "exclusive"?
