Hotel in Port Canaveral pre-cruise recommendations - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hi all,
Looking for recommendations for a pre-cruise hotel in Port Canaveral. We have stayed at the Radisson at the Port before and have not ruled it out but wondering if there is something better. We have three teenage boys.

We stayed at the Radisson at the Port last year...no complaints, very friendly staff and comfortable accommodations.

This February we'll be staying at the Country Inn.

For those travelling with kids, lots of family or extended family, A great Hotel is Ron Jon's Cape Caribe! It's two minutes from the port, prices are fabulous. What you get is a one or two bedroom villa. There is a Fabulous trip report that includes LOTS of info on this place. It's my new hotel of choice now for a pre cruise stay. Fabulous pool area, mini water park, a few minutes walk to the Beach and Jetty Park! Here's a link to that trip report:

Country Inn and Suites is a nice hotel and has breakfast and a shuttle. Its also very close to the port.

I stayed at Country Inn and Suites in March 2011 and I'm returning there in February 2013.

Keep in mind the slide and lazy river have limited hours (until 5:00 p.m. Sept-May, and 7:00 p.m. Jun-Aug). The pool remains open until 10 p.m. year round. It definitely is a nice place to stay!

We love the Residence Inn as well. Comfortable rooms (with one and two bedroom suites available as well), hot breakfast included, and shuttle available if needed.

I love Country Inn and Suites too. We've stayed there twice in the past. Always got great room deals via priceline. This year however, they don't seem to be on priceline. I love how they include a nice Hot breakfast. However this upcoming trip, we are traveling with extended family, and if we stayed at priceline, we'd need to book 3 rooms. The cost of that compared to Ron Jon's, left us feeling it's Ron Jon's Hands down!!! We have a suite that sleeps 10 and the price worked out to be $80 something for each of our 3 families. We'll bring our own breakfast of fruit and cereal and then just enjoy a fabulous lunch on board the ship
