Fast Pass Plus

I read last night on The Disney Corner that some Disney guests staying onsite May 1-15 will be contacted and asked to participate in the Fast Pass Plus trial. The rides in the trial will be Splash Mountain, The Jungle Cruise, Mickey's Philharmagic, and Stitch. These guests will be asked to choose Fast Pass times for these attractions before they visit the MK.
If you're contacted, please post and let us know what you think!

I'm also interested to see how it goes and if it's as terrible as I think it's going to be

It's bad enough to have to choose ADR times 6 months in advance but Choosing ride times? I really think that will take a lot of the fun out of it

We still don't know enough about the system to determine how it will effect touring plans. It's possible that you can plan as much OR as little as you like.

The real question is, will it end up being like 6-month ADR's where you run a large risk of being shut out of your favorite attractions (or standing in extra long lines) if you don't "book" on Day 1?

Both of these are concerns as well as having to plan our trip in the most minute
detail. If my trip planning becomes like planning a battle, then it's time for us to stop visiting WDW.

I'm with both of you. I plan which park to visit on which day in the am and pm and that's it. I pull a fast pass here and there but always use it in the window. I have even stopped making ADRs. We do mostly counter service. I love Disney but please, don't make my visit stressful. I have enough of that at work.

I don't think I like this too much...It's a little much.

Just as long as this is a complement to the FastPass, I'll be okay.

I liked the part about the wristband being loose. I don't mind loose wristbands as much as tight ones. And that is the only plus I can come up with regarding FPP.

I don't want to pick ride times in advance.

I don't want to have a vacation that has more appointments than regular life. Don't want to be looking at my watch all the time.

I hope these appointments are looser than the ADRs. If We get stuck on TT or Splash for half an hour, do we lose our Soarin or Space times?

I reeeeaally don't like the idea of ride appointments and hope it turns out better than that.

Since you are automatically scanned when going into the ride, I wonder if the system will be programmed to account for breakdowns?

For example:

You have a Soarin FP+ for 2pm. You walk into the line for Test Track at 1:30pm and the scanner auto detects your bracelet. The ride breakdown at 2:05pm just after you've boarded and you are stuck until 3:15. However, the breakdowns are entered into the FP+ programming so it makes scheduling adjustments for anyone with a FP+ for Test Track during that time and anyone that had a FP+ for another ride while on TT at that time.

For this trial
I don't know how it would be implemented in the future particularly for offsite guests.

Has Disney stated that it even would be?

Disneyworld? Not so much anymore. FP- has ruined the experience for locals

From what I've read, it isn't clear. I wwould imagine there would be a HUGE outcry if this is not offered to offsite guests. It is supposed to be a free service so I'm thinking that would mean that offsite guests would not be able to buy this type of fast pass. Maybe they will set it up the way ADRs are set up, eg, onsite guests have first picks of times up to 180 out and then sometiime after it would open up to those staying offsite.
