Talking How to address a grandmother?

My son calls my Mum Grandma (as do my sister's kids)and my mother in law is Nannie Anne 😊 she insists all cards from him state to Nannie as her mother was known as Nanna to my hubby his sister and all his cousins and their kids. It just made things easier to understand at family gatherings. Sadly Nanna passed away January 2011 and we still miss her but no-one takes up her name as a mark of respect to her daughters none of us want to use Nanna.
I used to call both of my grandmothers Nan followed by a shortened version of their married surname so my maternal grandmother was Nan Nick, my paternal one Nan Wilkie and great grandmother I used her given name on the end so Nan Dora just so we didn't get mixed up. When my Mum talked about her other grandmother she always called her Nan Hunter or Nan Phyllis depending on whom she was talking to. I never knew that names could be confusing until the family all got together and gossiped.😜

Mine wre Grannie and Nanna, however my mother has gone the traditional Welsh for some reason (Although Welsh, she cannot speak a word of the language) and has insisted my Nice call her Mam Gu (pronounced Mam Ghi).

Ok OP said she stayed in England, but for a little cultural balance, wanted to add an alternative.

I called my Mum's Mum "Nan".

My kids, on the other hand called my Nan "Little Nan" and my Mum "Big Nan" - more because she was wider than Little Nan rather than taller.........

I call one grandmother 'grandma' and the other 'grandmum' as she insists it sounds younger than 'grandma'!
