Oh man I'm so jealous... I'm a teacher. I can't imagine anyone getting a price like that on a school holiday.

Come on, book it .. it's sooo cheap! It'd be rude not to at that price believe me!
2 adults in an inside cabin (10c) is only $1500 ... for 2 weeks!
The Magic is doing the WBTA and the ports are:
Day 1 Barcelona
Day 2 At sea
Day 3 Malaga, Spain
Day 4 At sea
Day 5 At sea
Day 6 Tenerife, Canary islands .. great volcanic sands here
Day 7 At sea
Day 8 At sea
Day 9 At sea
Day 10 At sea
Day 11 At sea
Day 12 St Johns, Antigua
Day 13 St Maarten (where the planes land on your head!)
Day 14 St Kitts
Day 15 San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Flights back up to Orlando are around $140.
Bargain!!

I'm all booked with Meredith now by the way .. very helpful, but we've got ages yet so won't bother her just yet for more info!
Luckily, we're on the Magic this summer in the Med, so we can visit Sessions and speak to the current on board co-ordinator to see whats what and how things will go. meredith has put a 40 person limit on our ceremony, but she said a few extra would probably be fine ... if not, then it'll be 40, I can work with that number.

Jillian .. if I could ask about your music please. How many tunes did you choose and what was the one you would suggest to pay the most attention to for getting right (walk down aisle, first dance etc)?

Thanks
Joa
I work for and I seriously don't have enough seniority to get 2 weeks off of work!!! Sometimes I see last minute-deals for those repositioning cruises (I want to do transatlantic or panama canal so badly, though!) I don't anticipate DCL will stop going to such great ports, so a repositioning cruise is something I'm going to put on the back burner for the time being!! Besides, I'm already booked for the Fantasy 9/21 Eastern Caribbean this year as my 1-year anniversary/belated honeymoon cruise! We're traveling with close friends of ours who also got married close to when we did! I'm also booked for the Magic SOUTHERN Caribbean cruise in Sept 2014 that starts and ends in San Juan and goes to St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Antigua, Barbados, and Granada!! OMG, such amazing ports!!!

That's exciting that you're now booked and in contact with Meredith! It's exciting to be "official" isn't it? Hmm, for music I did ALL Disney tunes!!! I just had the pianist play because AT THE TIME they said that you could submit sheet music for them to play songs that weren't on the list... but apparently, they've pulled back on this rule! So not fair to future brides! The 3 songs I added were all Disney (or Disney owned!) songs anyways, so I don't see what the big deal is! I chose the Fantasmic theme for our recessional (I worked @ WDW Fantasmic for 4.5 years and we got engaged after DL Fantasmic, so it was something we both were eager about!) At Last I See the Light from Tangled for our first dance (It ALWAYS makes me misty eyed when I hear it now!) and Rainbow Connection... cause I love that song too!! Here's my full 'playlist':

Prelude: *Someday My Prince Will Come & *So This is Love
Grandparent/Parents seating: *Can You Feel the Love Tonight
Bridesmaid/Flower Girl: *A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
Processional: *A Whole New World
Recessional: *Fantasmic! Theme
Cake Cutting: *When You Wish Upon a Star
First Dance: *At Last I See The Light
Celebration: *Once Upon a Dream, *Kiss the Girl, *Rainbow Connection, *Beauty & The Beast

I wouldn't fuss TOO much over the music, I spent DAYS shuffling and readjusting my playlist- AGONIZING over the order and the significance of the songs to the timing... And I barely remember hearing most of the songs! I remember hearing the first couple bars of "A Whole New World" because it was my processional, but once they opened the doors everything went fuzzy in my memory! I remember hearing our first dance and thinking... WHY did I pick such a long song when I'm such a terrible dancer!??? Then I remember hearing Rainbow Connection, When you Wish Upon a Star, and when he ran out of my music, he played other Disney songs as we mingled...

So, my take on music is this: If you really want to hear it, play it AFTER your processional!!! Also, the aisle is SO short, so they don't get to play much of your song when walking down the aisle. To prolong your song, walk down the aisle SLOWLY! My brother escorted me and he was walking FAST! None of that left-together-right-together footsteps like we're supposed to do! Walk slowly because, YES, we're eager to get to our almost-hubby, but keep your pace slow! It's better for photos and you get more out of your processional song! Also, it suggests 4-5 songs for the celebration portion of your event, but put as many as you can fit in there, because chances are you'll need them!

On embarkation day when you meet your onboard coordinator, you could try to find out who your pianist is! If you can find out when he's playing or find a moment to talk to him, see what other Disney songs he knows! Each pianist is bound to know a variety of songs, even if they're not listed on the planning guide! You never know- it never hurts to ask! My pianist was playing as guests were entering the Dream and I heard him playing At Last I See the Light- I mentioned it to my onboard coordinator, and she said that he was practicing it for our event! It gave me warm fuzzies Otherwise, they're easily set up for audio if you submit or bring along your own music! You'd have to ask another bride who brought their own music/ CD to see how their experience was... but I loved having the pianist- my dad was a piano tuner and an organ player when I was growing up, so it's an art that I love to hear!

Yikes, I've gone and rambled again!!! Sorry if that got too long winded! Hope my answer helped!

Thanks loads .. It did help lots.

I like McFly's It's All About You. Not sure if they're popular over in the US, but they're just a nice pop band.
The lead singer Tom, did a fantastic wedding speech for himself .. Take a look:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=27WufdasQYs

He basically takes the tunes to some of their songs and changes the words, but it's so cool and had me crying all the way through, but especially at the end!! Enjoy!!

I requested the chocolate specialty cake for the bottom layer and vanilla with raspberry for the top layer.

Well, I went for my first try on of wedding dresses on Saturday and had the worst experience ever.
I'm not really a girly girl and was not looking forward to the day anyway, but jeez, I looked like a freak in a dress. I felt completely horrendous and am now trying to persuade Mick that wearing shorts, tshirt and flip flops will not be a bad thing!
I wanted to feel that 'this is the one' feeling that everyone has told me so much about, but all I've done is convince myself how bad I will look. Tried different styles, bust lines, lengths, colours, sparkle and non sparkle ... I'm giving up.
So miserable about it now :-(

Don't feel bad! I've been to two different dress shops! Still haven't found the one. At the last shop the lady said to me "can you picture yourself getting married in this?" I told her I don't know. Really? I guess I don't visualize things like that. Then to top it off, I was already there for two hours, or more and then this girl comes in with a big entourage, tries on seriously 2-3 dresses then I hear "this is it, this is my dress" and the water works start! I was thinking Really what's wrong with me! LOL

My mom, family and friends are on the east coast so I have been taking a friend of mine from work. The dresses were nice but nothing that screamed this is it. I've been told I just haven't found the right one yet!

Have you tried going to David's Bridal? Them seem to try an find styles of dresses that look good with your body type. At least that's what I got from my experience there.

Don't give up! I'm not! I have two more appointments and one is today!

Yes shorts, t shirts and flip flops are great but you only get to wear a wedding dress once! Would you regret it if you didn't wear one??

Good luck! Let me know if you go again

Just nosing in to say do NOT stress about finding "The One." Yes, some girls try on a dress and the heavens open and the angels sing, but it does not happen to everyone. That's a myth perpetuated by the Wedding Industrial Complex. I tried on upwards of 70 dresses hoping to find The One, but nothing was really speaking to me, even among the few that actually looked good on my figure.

I finally decided I was going to look for "The One That..." For me the criterion was "Makes My Waist Look Smallest" but for you it could be anything: "Is the Sparkliest" or "Accentuates My Curves" or "Has the Prettiest Lace." That helped me narrow my focus when I went shopping and feel OK about saying no to dresses that weren't quite right. When I found the one that made my waist look smallest, I didn't cry or have an earth-shaking experience, I just felt relieved and confident that I was making the right choice.

It's easy to get discouraged, too. I was so disappointed after my first time out. Nothing was in my price range and none of the styles I tried on looked that great. But I just needed to try a variety of different places, from mom and pop shops to David's to the fanciest bridal salon in Southern California.

Hang in there! [kitten poster]

Thank you both for your reassuring words. I'm not alone then in my freakiness!!
I can't go to Davids as I'm in the UK .. although, it gives me an excuse for coming over to the US!!

I've decided I'm going to lose at least 10 kgs before going back to a shop. That way, I'll feel better about myself and hopefully will look more objectively at the dresses.
I have a photo that my friend took of my back while wearing one of the dresses. They were all too small and it was laced up at the back but my bra lard/back fat was all hanging out .. not pretty and is my incentive to get in shape a little more.
I'm not obese, but I'm only 5'1" so any weight shows up more than if I was taller .. no excuse though, I'm overweight and need to kick myself up the backside now.

Wedding in 18 months.

Thanks for the help ladies.

You have plenty of time to find a dress, don't start stressing out yet. I'm sure you'll find the one for you.

Remember that when you try on gowns, they are not the right size for you. If you are petite, look for gowns that can be ordered in petite sizes. At your first fitting they will already look better than the one you tried on in the store. Don't give up.
