I'm new here and I have a question

So I'm new to the DISboards and I have been running around the forums like a kid in a candy store.

So I'm heading down to The World for the week of December 17-22 as a graduation gift/vacation. I practically grow up in the parks and love them, but I'm going with my girlfriend (she is meeting me down there) and it will be her first time going to anything other then MK (Magic Kingdom). So my question is what are some things that will make her first time in EPCOT as "magical" as it was at MK?

Thanks for any info that I can get.

You can look into the CandleLight Processional, and also the storytellers around Epcot if you like the Christmas-time atmosphere.

Maybe you could take her to pick a pearl in Japan and pick out a nice setting? That would be something she could always have to remind her of your trip.

If she's never been to World Showcase, the wow will take care of itself.
Make sure she gets on Soarin, and the new Test Track should be running then.
Of course, make sure she tries the Beverly at Club Cool.

If you'll be in DHS, be sure to get over to the Streets of America for the Osborne Lights.

Definitely explore the World Showcase! Some pavillions, Morocco and France come to mind, are bigger than they seem with windy back roads and little details to find.

There's the Segway tour -- that would be fun for both of you...

Try to get the top row on Soarin'.

You could even show off your culinary knowledge and eat at the Sunshine Seasons food court. Inexpensive and yummy!

Soarin and Test Track are great she will love them ! Oh get there early and get fast passes if the lines are already long. Soarin fast passes run out fast like by 11:00 am. Not sure about Test track but I would say they do too. If it is really busy they may run out of fast passes sooner, Im not sure I have only been there during slower times of the year. Club cool is fun and also a good place for free drinks Oh and of course illuminations !

I don't know if money is an issue but Dolphins in Depth at the Living seas is a fantastic once in a lifetime experience!!!

Also in France either taking her to Le Chefs de France which is very romantic and then pastries in the little outdoor cafe.

England has a great band that you can watch in the lovely flower garden.

I like the previous post of picking a pearl in Japan and having it set there. They are fairly inexpensive.

Mexico has a very romantic indoor restaurant too.

ANd don't forget to have her watch the fireworks.

If you are both up to night life you can walk through the international gateway after the fireworks to walk on the Boardwalk. It is very romantic too
Good luck!!

Illuminations. Especially during the holidays. Enough said.

I second watching illuminations. First time I saw it with my gf (now wife) we were both blown away, speechless and had goosebumps! Also, I agree boardwalk is spectacular at night. It's a short 5-10 minute walk if you exit Epcot through international gateway in world showcase. Bars, places to eat, shops, just go there and relax.

Thanks All for the info.

So the day looks like this:
Top row of Soarin
Test Track (this looks like it is going to be fun)
Beverly
Lunch at Sunshine Seasons
Exploring World Showcase
Stop at Japan to get a pearl
Dinner at Le Cafe de France
Illuminations
And then a walk down the Boardwalk

Sounds like it's going to be a fun day and an interesting night.

Test Track should be open your dates. Emphasis on should. Currently scheduled to reopen November 30.

Have fun!
