Glynis – I continue to keep y’all in my prayers regarding the move. Hope your two guys are feeling better! So glad to hear you enjoyed the sweet & sour mac salad. I’ve been making that for 20 years and we still gobble it up!

Ellen – I hope you enjoyed your weekend with the boys! We often say the same thing about being busier now than when we were young…there’s something wrong with that, lol!

Jen – I hope Jon had a great bday and you & Uncle R enjoyed your anniversary. Thank you so much for the great blog on the mac salad!

Nan – I feel the same way, it is not the DIS or Pinterest or Facebook or Twitter…it’s Johnny & Kyle, they are the reason my house is a mess!

It’s that time of year here, Kyle’s birthday was 10 days ago, Johnny’s birthday is today, Father’s Day is Sunday……. Also wanted to mention, for the first time in two years I believe there is a special young lady in my son's life. He's got that look and I couldn't be happier!!!

I miss y’all!!!!!

How about: Tator tot casserole, Snow on the Mountain (beef, beans etc. with potatoes on top), pulled beef, chicken pot pies, spagehetti sauce - for pasta or meatball sandwiches, Lazagna, meatloaf. These are things I try to keep in mine for those days I don't want to cook. Soups are always good too.

The DIS................ NO WAY!!! God love ya lady, you always make me smile.

Wow, you will never know how much I miss you. So glad to see you pop in once in awhile. How are you feeling? I sure have been thinking about you.
Happy Birthday to Johnny!!
So happy for Kyle. That smile is one that makes everything ok. You know what I mean - right in the heart of a Momma. I so understand. It just makes it easier to breath.

Not much new here either. We are half way through our rodeo fun. Tonight will be night 3. We have had so much fun, but we don't get home till almost midnight and I am dragging this morning. This old gal is usually in be at 10. Tomorrow we are taking the boys with us. There is a HUGE parade at 1 and then the rodeo finale. I know Ethan will have a blast but I'm not so sure about Liam. Either he will love it or hate it. It is going to be a long day either way.

Make it a great day my dear friends.

Good morning everyone - where are you all?

It is going to be another hot day today. It reached 98 yesterday and they are saying we could get over 100 today. My lawn is crumbling in this heat. We just can't get a hold on it.

We had a fun time at the rodeo with the boys. I was so glad it wasn't this hot on Saturday. There would have been no way Liam could have been out in it. Ethan and I played at the carnival before the action started. We had fun, but wow $20.00 doesn't last long these days.

Yesterday we just stayed inside. Went to breakfast after church then decided against golfing with the heat and the wind. The kids (Matthew called) came and brought dinner for Father's Day, so we ended up having a nice evening. I got to snuggle all of my grandbabies so I was a happy girl.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning! It's a beautiful day here!

Yesterday was a great day! The kids and I made breakfast for Alan, we went to Church, and then spent the rest of the day with Alan's family. It was so much fun! We had a huge barbecue, and tons of food! I love days like that!

Today we are cleaning up, getting ready for Jacob's band camp, and then later, a picnic with my sister and her kids! We'll end up with snow cones to cool off!

Tonight, Alan and I are going to see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" for a late Father's Day/Anniversary treat! I can't wait! We are meeting up with friends of ours for dinner, so that will be fun! The kids will have spaghetti at home!

As for our prospective move... it's on hold, for now. Alan says that's a good thing. His feeling is that if "the powers that be" really wanted to move on this, they would hire someone else immediately. When last he talked to his bosses, they explained that they would rather keep things as they are, and revisit the question at the end of the year. Conveniently, that is the time that Alan would be available to move without it interfering with his schooling. So, we still have that on the horizon, but are still kind of in limbo with it. Frustrating, but that's what it is. I'm still spending my extra time, paring down our clutter, and getting rid of stuff we don't need/want/use anymore. If we move, that will help, and if we don't, it will still feel good to have less clutter around the house.

Holy Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I think you are sending it our way, the weather man said HOT HOT HOT for the next few day.

I am so glad you had a great time at the rodeo with your boys. I hear you on the money though! I have gone nowhere and have spent way too much going there.

It sounds like a wonderful few days for you! I am totally jealous about your show! I have wanted to see that one for quite some time now.

Glynis- I know that you are in limbo but what is frustrating for you is most probably a Blessing in disguise. Is sounds like Alan's employers are in no rush if waiting means they can give him the job that he wants. That says a great deal about how they feel about him. Keep your chin up and enjoy the Summer without having to think about packing, moving, shopping, and moving and packing..............

Well we had a nice weekend. The wedding was very nice with good food. Boring as all getout but way better than we had thought. I will say that my dearest Erica spotted every woman who should have left their dress on the hanger and chosen another one and promised me that she would never let me go out looking like that And there were a few of them

Sunday was quiet here. I was lazy so I accomplished nothing. Good for me!!!!!!!!! Buddy spent the day at Daniels running an excavator to remove a hedgrow. Marisa and Kady came for dinner so that was nice.

We spent today running errands, Weighed in (Marisa is down 18 pounds!!!!!!!!!) shopped and now we are all ready to head to Mystic tomorrow. Marisa is coming because she must watch me like a hawk to make sure I stay away from goodies. Kady has graciously agreed to wait to go on an ice cream trail until Nana can be trusted not to eat the ice cream. In exchange we are taking her to the arcade in Mohegan Sun Casino.

Ellen- we will talk about that elusive $20 on Thursday.................

Morning Ladies,

Marisa ~ How is Yoda doing? I don't know why but I was thinking of her this morning. I sent you an email. Thanks in advance.

Nan ~ I hope you are having fun in Mystic. You all so deserve it!!

Glynis ~ Sounds like the move is still in the works. But just in a different time. Sometimes when we have setbacks they are really the best thing. I sure hope it all works out.

Lauren ~ Are you still doing Zumba?

Aimee ~ Are you still homeless? No seriously, I pray you find something you love real soon.

I is another hot as he** day today. We reached over 100 yesterday, and that is just way to hot for me. I go from the church to home and never peek out. Tomorrow (the first day of summer) is suppose to be a bit better.

I have to share - a while back I asked for prayers for Elizabeth & Jay - well they have sold their house. They are moving to Kearney. They had first wanted to move to Gburg. which is about 45 miles to the west of us, but have decided to instead move to Kearney. This is only 35 miles east and in the same town that Stephanie and Marty live in. I am one happy girl as they both will be in the same town. They are thrilled!! I am so going to miss seeing them everyday but this move is a good one all the way around.

And the job front for Matthew - He didn't get the job. They did tell him he was their number one choice, but where he was still in school and not available 40 hours a week they had to say no. He/we completely understand. He still has his job and once he graduates in December he can be fully qualified for another position. Plus it would have required he move to Hickman - a tiny town of 250 people. He really wants to stay in Lincoln so all-in-all it probably was for the best. We will just have to wait and see.

Well there ya have it. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Make it a great day!!

Hey all! Busy day here. Katie got 2 cavities filled, and I took Jacob to the doctor for a strep test. It tested negative, but the doctor gave him a shot anyway, as there is a bacterial infection that is testing negative, going around. I'm glad he got the shot, since he leaves for Scout camp soon, and I didn't want to have to worry about him while he's there.

Dinner tonight is sweet and sour meatballs.

We are going to the Toby Keith concert tonight. I can't wait. I have my red solo cup all ready.

Tomorrow or tonight (if we aren't to tired) we are heading to Lincoln. Marty, Matthew and Doug are golfing in a benefit tournament for a cousin of Marty's who has cancer. Stephanie and I are cleaning Matthew's apartment - finally got rid of the terrible room mate - and then will join them for Dinner tomorrow night. On Sunday is Ethan's 8th birthday so we will be home by 6:00 for dinner.

Canít believe itís been so long since Iíve checked in here! Iíll try and get caught up.

Nan & Ellen Ė Not only does my boy have a new gal heís got a great new job! Heís the front desk attendant at a pretty ritzy country clubís golf & fitness center. Now for the bad news, he has torn something in his throwing arm and will go for an MRI next week. Coaches think it could possibly require surgery.

Glynis Ė I can only imagine how frustrating it must be not knowing whatís going to happen with the move but I feel like itís probably a good thing for it to be a slow process. Things happen for a reason, they say. Hugs, my friend. I hope Jacob is feeling better.

Nan Ė I am rotfl at Ericaís critiquing of the dresses worn at the wedding. She sounds like so much fun! Congrats to Marisa on losing 18 lbs! You are doing well too!! Itís much harder the older you are. Iím noticing how much harder it is to pull off a few compared to 4 years ago. Itís a difference like night & day! I hope yíall enjoyed Mystic!

Ellen Ė You must be so excited knowing that Elizabeth & Jay will be close by and right there with Stephanie & Marty. You couldnít ask for any more!!! Iím sad Matthew didnít get the job but it sounds like it was probably for the best.

I'm going to try and check in daily. Out for now.....

Lady, I am so glad to see you. I really miss you.
I am over the moon happy for Kyle. I am happy about the new gal. Do you like her? And his new job sounds wonderful amazing. Matthew would love a job in a pro shop. Good for him!!
Now on the other hand I am so sad about his arm. Hopefully it will be an easy fix and he will be ready for next season. Please keep us posted.
Thanks for the kind words - I really appreciate them.

What a weekend. The Toby Keith concert was in a 2 1/2 hour rain delay. We were soaked to the bone but we stuck it out. He finally came out to play about 11:30 and played till 1 am. It was awesome!!

We got the apartment all cleaned and boy does it smell better. We all feel better.

The benefit was a complete success. We raised over $9000 for Justin & Karen.

Ethan's birthday was fun. But the best part was we were a bit late and by the time we got there the EVIL MIL was leaving. Jay's Mom is a real peice of work - enough said. But with her not there we had a great time.

I had to come to work to rest. We are getting ready for our Church Garage sale. This a major fundraiser for the Panama Mission Trip so I am in charge. Oh joy!! But I will soldier on.

Make it a great day and I am now out!

Ellen - I haven't met her yet. Kyle is taking this VERY slowly as he's definitely gun-shy. I'm loving the look on his face when he talks about her. He had to re-schedule his MRI because he started his new job today. I'll let you know when it's re-scheduled for. We can use all the prayers we can get.

Johnny loves Toby Keith, we'd love to see him one day. We saw Miranda Lambert on Saturday and we both said it was the best concert either of us has ever seen. That little thing packs a punch and she is a ball of energy!!!

Glad to hear the benefit was so successful and Ethan's party was fun!

Quick update on Kyle's arm. He only had orientation at work today and was able to make it to his MRI. News is not good, but could be worse. His labrum is torn. Surgery would mean his baseball career would virtually be over. The doctors are going with a new combo of injections and intense daily rehab and hopefully he'll be able to salvage his last season.

Where is everyone??????

Good Morning All!!!!!!!!!!

Kat- Marisa and I have been in Vermont visiting Debbie. She is a bit isolated IMO so not much DISing for us. I am sorry that Kyle hurt his arm but hopeful that the treatments will help. Surgical intervention is a last resort. I am also happy that he did not dive in to this relationship and is taking it slow. When Donny was seeing Dawn they went from 0 to 60 (turns out she did, he had no clue) and it was just too fast.

Ellen- I would have loved to see Toby Keith. One of my favorite concerts was a Country Music Fest.. It had been held at the Big E fairgrounds for several years and some folks complained that it should be in CT. Okay, off we go to Goshen or Hebron, I forget which one that year and it started to pour. Travis Trit was the last performer and he sang for well over an hour. It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He said if we got wet so too would he.

So we had a great time visiting Deb. I am really glad she has that big bad dog who would die for her. Folks just stop by and ask if "The Trooper" can watch this or check that. I know she is fine but it makes me uneasy that she is so exposed there. She certainly loves her job!

We are all fine here. Marisa and I managed not to cheat on our diets but it was hard. Deb took us sightseeing and there weer wonderful ice cream shops everywhere as well as lovely places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. No......water and cucumbers. But we have a goal and losing weight for Disney is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in~

Kat ~ Oh darn it on Kyle's arm. I was so hoping it would be an easy fix. I do agree though that surgery should be a last resort. Hopefully the PT and injections will work. Hugs and prayers.
I so hear you on Kyle being gun shy. I think our boys are alike. I remember his heart was broke right before Matthew's. I think him and Liz dated for 3 months before we met her. They have been together for almost a year now and if I had to be truthful I still think Matthew is looking over his shoulder for something to happen. And I really don't think it will. She is a real sweetheart and is so good to him. I just think it is going to take some time, and Matthew is taking it VERY s.l.o.w.

Nan ~ I am so glad you and Marisa had fun on your time away. I am also very proud of you for sticking to your diets.

I didn't make it here yesterday. For a few days I was the only one that posted. So I skipped a day. I really wish we could keep this thread going. It is so great to talk to you all again. You have no idea how I have missed you.

It is really hot here today. Yesterday is reached 111 but today it is to be cooler at only 102. As far as I am concerned that is just a few degrees hotter then HE**. I don't like the heat and especially the humidity. Thank goodness I work inside!!

Make it a great day everyone.
