Good morning. We are in the final countdown until summer. Our school gets out on May 31, so my kids are getting quite excited!

My best news is that I'm a great-aunt again! My niece, Emily, had her first child last night at 10:11!!! A darling baby girl they are naming Olivia. I can't wait to get my hands on her! She was tiny, though... 5 pounds 13 ounces. Emily has epilepsy, and they've been concerned throughout her pregnancy that her epiliepsy meds might interfere with the baby's growth. It looked like she might come extremely early, but she hung in there. Good girl!!!

Vickie - I'm so sorry about C. Sometimes feelings get to be so large and scary that kids that small just need to lash out. Luckily, they mostly lash out at people they feel safe with. People they know will still love them. Poor little guy!

Kat - How cool that you met Leonardo!!! He's quite the guy!

Lauren - I can't wait to see T on the swingset! Tim loves ours. We need to get a couple of new swings, but he's still happy with it. I NEVER iron for Alan! He never lets me know what he needs until it's too late. I'm afraid our dryer works overtime to de-wrinkle when he needs it.

Nancy - I know you and Buddy will feel a bit lost without the girls, but I'm sure you'll find something to fill your time. You always do!

Jen Yes, the pork chop and pineapple fried rice was PWs and it was really good.

Vickie Im sorry to hear C is having a rough time. I will add some extra prayers for him.

Glynis Congrats on the new baby in the family!

Morning, all! It's a bright, sunny morning, and hopefully, it will be warmer than it was yesterday!

Well, Alan has "heard it through the grapevine" that the job in southern Utah is his. However, he hasn't heard it from his boss. When he does, we'll really get on the stick with the house. Until then, we are just doing some fix up stuff to either get it ready to sell, or to make it look nicer for us. Yesterday, we cleaned up the front yard, and back yard. Still some edge work to do this evening when Alan gets home. I think Timmy and I will head to the nursery to pick up some pretty flowers to plant around the base of our trees. We have a lot of trees, and the area around them is pretty bare. This will help with "curb appeal." Or so we're told. On a good note, Alan's BIL told us, about 5 years ago, that if we ever wanted to sell the house, he wanted first shot at it. He likes to help all his married kids get into their first house. His daughter, Emily, (who just had baby Olivia), and her husband are looking to buy a house, so the timing might work out perfectly. If it does, we'll really have to move fast to pack and get ourselves out this summer. Cross your fingers!!!

Dinner tonight will be something with chicken that I bought yesterday. Not exactly sure what, but we'll come up with something!

Oh, I almost forgot! Katie started her first online high school class yesterday... Fitness for Life. Part of the requirements are 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 3 times a week. We're doing this as a family, to help keep her (and ourselves) active this summer. We started last night with about 45 minutes of using the walking trails in our new park. Jacob and the younger kids played on the playground while Alan, Katie and I walked and talked! It turned out to be a lot of fun, and even Katie said she enjoyed it! I'm thrilled, as it will also help me for all the walking I'll be doing in London this summer.

Have a great day, everyone! I'm OUT.

Are they getting C some (emotional) help? Here, we have specialists in the children's hospitals that help a child process their feelings related to their illness - they do group sessions, camps, retreats, etc so they can hang with other kids that have the same thing. Hopefully there is something similar in your area to help kids with physical illness?

So glad you had a great trip - and at the sticky notes!!

Dude, my internet has been out at home for 6 days now! I've tried everything and now have to leave it up to AT&T - never a good thing! I'm totally lost without it.

In case you missed it on FB, we are moving 1100 miles away! I'm in a whirlwind now; things have been made public at church, many tears shed so far, our realtor came this morning to look at our home, etc. AND of course our AC, phone, and DSL all went out over the weekend. GRRR!!!

I took the day off yesterday and scrubbed the house all day. Made progress but there is SO much more to do. I need to get my hands on some moving boxes to get some stuff packed away and out of sight.

This weekend, I am flying up to find us a house. Also getting a mortgage approved through all of this

We hope to be there by this time next month. If not sooner.

Good Morning Everyone!

Ellen: I am glad to hear you had a great trip! I hope you found your monitor!!

Glynis: I hope all goes well with the move. How exciting and scary all at the same time. Have you told the kids?

Aimee: This is going to go quickly!!! I am so happy you will be on this coast! We might have to visit

Yesterday Kady had a dentist appointment. She did well, no cavities or anything, but she needs braces. Her top teeth are perfectly straight but she has a slight overbite. So that needs to be fixed. The bottom has some crowding issues so its causing lots of shifting. So most likely she will need to have two molars pulled to make more room. So I will have to set up a consultation with an orthodontist. Fun especially since I am not working

Today is another rainy day. I have to run out and get my nails done. I need to make sure I get them done in case I have an issue with a knife like Lauren and my nails are not there to protect me

Jeff has to go to work 2 hours early for a meeting so he will have a long night. I am going to make him his favorite dinner for him to take with him. Tuna noodle casserole. I don't like it at all, so Kady and I will have spaghetti for dinner.

Have a great day everyone!!

Aimee- that is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry about the move, you are on the right path so it will all work out.

I don't where today went but I have not accomplished anything. Well I am keeping up on Disney Animal Kingdom game so I do have my priorities! I am pretty terrible at I Spy type games but I persevere!

I cannot wait until Friday. Kady is taking a Nana's Mental Health Day and we are going to the science museum. She and I have a membership there, she loves it!

Ellen Welcome back! Glad to hear yall had a great time!

Glynis Sounds like everything is falling into place for the move, keeping my fingers crossed it continues!

Aimee Youve surely got your hands full with this move and its all so exciting BUT I worry about you my friend. Try and take care of yourself too.

Marisa How does Kady feel about the braces? I remember Kyle was so excited because everyone had them.

Trying a new recipe tonight for "healthy" pulled pork tacos, made in the crockpot. We shall see!

Jeez, i cant even get in and out every day!

All good here...Andrews game was cancelled tonight due to the rain we've been getting. I planned a quick dinner of chicken and bacon subs. I used my last pound of bacon from the butcher so I made a trip there to stock up again. I was only going to get bacon and hot dogs since I am trying to clean out the freezer but wound up getting some chuck roast and ground beef. I love the family that owns this place. They deliver to NYC and they have a customer in the NJ town I lived so we have a "bond". lol. I LOVE hot dogs from the butcher with the casing on. YUM! And I tried a new flavored bacon called "hunky". Its pepper and paprika.

OK, I am babbling. I have been using Ina's oven bacon technique. Easy peasy!

Glynis, Congrats and welcome to Olivia! Seems like everything is falling into place with the move. How is Dad doing?

Kat, I cant believe Leo didnt look so great. I hear ya about that smile though!!! Cant wait to hear how your new recipe turns out.

Marisa, Ugh the orthodontist! Andrew had major crowding so he did palate expanders and 2 phases of braces. I guess it worked since he got voted nicest smile in the 8th grade!!! How is Yoda doing?

Aimee, Oh my, things are moving so fast for you. I pray all works out and you find something this weekend. I am sure you have such mixed emotions about everything...hugs!

Nancy, Yay for Kady and Nana time!

Oy, I probably missed a lot. I should have a few minutes to check back tomorrow. Thomas goes to daycare tomorrow so I need to get caught up here and get my nails done. I have been doing lots of gardening so they are a wreck. We are also having our patio stained and sealed so I have to be here for those guys.

I cant wait for my vacation!!! I am so confused what to do for dining. I dont want to be on a tight schedule so I just made ADRs for Jiko, Crystal Palace breakfast and Boma breakfast. Now I am contemplating Hoop Dee Doo or Chef Mickeys.

I also want to go Parasailing!

Have a great night all!

PS: Pics of T on the swing set will be a few weeks. We ordered it from an Amish company and they have to get materials together and then travel from Ohio.

Afternoon, everyone! Seems like people must be as crazy busy as I am! I've been spending a few hours each day decluttering the house. I figure if we move, we won't have to move the "crap", and if we stay put, at least we'll be better off.

I'm getting a bit frustrated on the move/new job front. It seems like Alan's boss has been talking to everyone except Alan about it. People are talking like it's a done deal, but Alan hasn't been told for sure! I'd just like to know, you know?

Dad is doing very well. He managed to go to church for an hour on Sunday, and felt really good. He also went into work on Monday for a couple of hours. The summer repertory company arrived on Monday, and dad wanted to be there at the first meeting to greet everyone and give his customary speech. My sources tell me that he looked great, and went home right afterwards. Good thing! He's got another surgery on May 23rd and I want him in peak condition for that!

Did I mention that Alan has been chosen to cover the eclipse on the 19th-20th? Apparently the one spot in the world where the eclipse will be best viewed is 10 miles from my dad's house. So, we're taking the kids and heading down for it. Should be really cool!!! I know Alan will take amazing video of things down there, so I'll post a link to his stuff when we get home. I'm hoping we'll know more about the move by then, so we can take some time to look at houses while we're down there.

Dinner tonight is a new crockpot stroganoff recipe. It smells DIVINE!!! Instead of serving it over noodles, I'll make some brown rice and serve it over that.

.
There is a group at the Edinburgh Kids Hospital.
C had never been keen to go and we never pushed it.
We took his lead but I think my sister is going to try and get him to go now.
Its been hard because we didnt want to make his illness a big deal altho it clearly is and he is clearly strugglin.
How stoopid huh, as the adults we should have known better.
Ok, Im strugglin to find the words to explain things, but you can be sure I/we will be doing everything to help him from now.

Aimee / Glynis - Exciting times ahead for you and yours.

I hope everone else is good and send ma best to youse all....and out x

Girls, we've been so busy. I don't have time to even breathe. Or sleep.

13 more work days. 3 weeks from tomorrow is my last day of work.

Between work and the blog and family we are doing nothing but running.

We're taking a family trip to go shopping and out to eat this weekend. Other than that, I need to sleep.

Miss y'all.
