It's to be expected, the tests are getting harder and harder as years go by - personally I don't think it's helping... Anyhoo, I also second going to a small country town and trying again there. The town I got my licence in only had 1 set of traffic lights, also some friends of mine went to a town that didn't have any traffic lights, so the most difficult part was going through round a bouts

Battymum, what we found for our daughter (copied from most of her friends) was have her do a paid driving lesson immediately prior to the test then let her go with the driving instructor to the centre and take the test in their car. It helps them settle their nerves and practice any skills they are weakest on (or just forget to do) immediately prior. Also driving instructors can advise on the tough or better centres-up here in northside Brisbane we have one with a really bad rep that you know to avoid if you have a nervous girl especially. I have heard too that kids who turn up with the driving instructor get treated a bit easier as its considered by the person testing "oh they've had lessons, not just learnt from mum and dad"-but that might be an urban myth. Reassure her lots of people take a few goes-its no big deal-there are several mistakes that are do one wrong and you fail the test instantly. Unfortunately it does make them more and more nervous each time. Has she had feedback on what errors she made?

and I failed my test first time round-in a country town. I couldn't do a reverse park good enough and '*** he knew I was heading off to "the big smoke" and "would need to know how to do a reverse park there"! He passed me just days before I left for Uni while I'd had to spent the whole summer cooling my heels cadging lifts from others. Guess who still avoids reverse parks whenever I can-and 35 years later still suck at them!!

It's ok she is willing to give it another shot, third times a charm, right?
She did have lessons and one just prior, but the instructor took my car. Apparently everything was fine until she cut someone off at a dual lane roundabout about 500mtrs before getting back to the RTA.

Getting a license can be gruelling.
Also getting a job. Have been for so many interviews and tests and so on, make it to the final round then get pipped at the post by someone else. Got a call at 11am for an interview at 1pm today. They apparently have some jobs that need filling. Fingers toes and everything else crossed for this one.. relying on a friend to drive me as the recruiter is in the middle of nowhere and it would take me too long to get there on public transport. So anxious

went well as far as i can tell -- should find out mon/tues next week.
cost me $93 in cab fare to get home from there, as there was no public transport available. after that kind of expense, i am really, really desperate for an influx of cash
