I just added to the first post of this thread a link to Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings' Wedding Cake Pin Board for even more inspiration photos (and proof that the Grand Floridian can do shaped cakes!).

Thanks! Oh, I'm planning on it. I'm gonna try & call later tonight to hopefully get someone else, because I have a feeling if I spoke to the same cranky woman she would not care at all that I was canceling.

I would definitely call and cancel! Ugh, I would have been furious if I had to deal with that kind of phone call. Just yesterday, I placed orders at CR and YC for a 2 tier cake and I am getting a chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse filling at CR and a white cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh strawberry filling. They offered me the standard favors first and then I asked if they could do what I wanted and it was no issue at all. Hope you have better luck with the next call! Keep us posted!

Can I just say that I soooo miss the treasure box cake??
I loved it when we got it a few years ago for DS. Wish it was still around so I could surprise DD with one for our upcoming trip. Not that we NEED a cake...but gosh they were darling!

Carrie,

By any chance do you know how big those cakes are, like the cheeseburger one? I wanted a cake shaped like a pirate chest for a grooms cake but I'm thinking it might be too big there's only going to be 10-15 of us! It's for our welcome dinner before our wedding cruise. I have been in contact with Pat at GF via email and came up with a unique pirate themed cake! I'm just curious if I would be able to get a cake like a treasure chest.

Thanks
Jodi

Am I crazy to pay $80 for a 2 tier mini cake to be designed like this?

The flavor would be white cake with white chocolate mousse & fresh strawberry filling. And tinkerbell would be a 2D edible topper.

Have you had them price it at a 6 inch cake?

That thought never even crossed my mind!! It's for our last night and I was trying to avoid leftovers....but for the right price I would totally pack a plastic container to take any leftovers home in!! I am going to inquire.

I have a cake ordered from CR for next week ... I am a little nervous too, but hoping for the best. Two previous cake orders through Chef Brian were awesome, so I hope this one will be as well. I sent in some photos of elements I hoped could be combined, and Chef Donald indicated by email that they could. I will report back after our trip.
