Sending in photos (or even sketches) always helps!
I did, on several attempts, try to get an email so I could send a pic of what I wanted...which went on deaf ear...which is why I changed my cake order. If I'm spending $150 I would expect better service.

Yup! But I have faith it will be fabulous I will post a pic when we return. My other cake was ordered from Y&B for the Illuminations Cruise for my in-laws 50th Annivesary.

And if the above mentioned cake isn't up to standards, I'll sick my daughter on them

At least you know the Y&BC cake will be fabulous. GF cakes are usually really nice too, as long as both parties are on the same page. Sometimes, things get lost in translation there.

Thanks everyone for all your help, I just ordered my cake!
I sent Brian a sketch of the cake I drew and he said he could do something similar for $100.00. I would post the picture of the sketch, but I don't know how to add a picture!
I will post a picture of the real cake (if I can figure it out) when we get back!

Thanks again for the help!

I didn't see this question being asked anywhere so I thought I'd ask. What kind of information are you asked to provide for cake orders that are to be delivered to dinner? Just wondering because DBF's ex is coming to her son's bday dinner at Chef Mickey's and I let her know she could order a cake. She can place the order even though the ADR isn't in her name, right?

I called the Contemporary Resort to place the order, she took the cake info (size, flavor, filling, fondant color, greeting). When it came todetails I went over exactly what I wanted with Brian. I gave my reservation info and CC number (there was $1 charged that day and then reversed a day later.), was quoted $77 and with tax/gratuity it came to $99.

Sorcerer Mickey Cake from GF

We were just there a couple days ago. I ordered the cake from the Grand Floridian. Honestly, it wasn't that great. There were 10 of us (6 were kids) and NO one finished their cake. SIX kids. They eat anything with sugar on it. It was 40 or 50 bucks for the cake. My son was very pleased though so that's all that matters. We had it delivered to the private boat we rented for fireworks viewing.

I had originally called the cake hotline. They were very nice. You can pretty much order whatever you want. I was specific that I did not want a frozen cake (I see a lot of complaints about this). I had arranged for private boat for the fireworks viewing and they told me to call GF directly. That person was not the usual sweet Disney self--kind of seemed defensive. I was just asking questions (like, do I need to bring plates/forks?) and she said, "no ma'am. We do this everyday. We'll take care of it." I don't know--stuff like that.

I can't show you the picture because I don't have enough posts apparently. Sorry.

It was very nice to look at.

Does anyone know if CapnJack restaurant does cakes? My dh and I are celebrating our anniversary while we are down there and I wanted to order a special cake.
