The plan is to go tour WL so we'll go by the TTC and activate them at some point so we can just head to AK for RD the next morning.
Is there a place to activate them at Downtown Disney? that's where we are going the first day...

Yep! DH and I did that on our honeymoon earlier this month. Just go to guest services (near the Ghirardelli shop, IIRC) and they can do everything right there. Much better than trying to activate them at a park before rope drop next morning!

That's great to know. When we go in Feb, we will be doing DTD on Sunday and the parks starting Monday so it will be great to activate them there instead of at the park. Thanks!

They put all the furniture out around the pool yesterday, our housekeeper said the pool opens Friday. We leave Friday morning.

According to the FB page (someone asked) the pool will not be open Friday. Furniture was put out, but they still have inspections. They didn't specify an opening date.

Do they put up a huge Christmas Tree at SOG? Lobby or anywhere else? I have been at Christmas before but didn't remember and it was before the remodel...

DH and I were at Shades last year right after Christmas for our honeymoon and their Christmas decorations were still up and looking magical. They had a HUGE tree in the lobby that was beautiful and several little trees throughout the building.

Forgive me if this is elsewhere in the thread and I missed it. Does SoG provide bed rails for little sleepers? Alternately, are the beds movable so I could push one against the wall?

Thanks!

I don't think the beds are movable, but the couch (which is a pull-out bed) can probably be turned around to face the wall.

We have used bedrails at SOG! I put in the request when I called but they were never there when we arrived. One call to housekeeping, however and they were delivered pretty quickly!

Questions

I'm getting ready to book Shades for the first time. Would someone give me a better idea of where the Polynesian is located and what building I should request? I'd like the option of walking there for breakfast and would like to be as close as possible.
