Cali. Grill Service Time, Dress Code?

OK, I just got a 7:50 ADR here on a night when Wishes is at 9, it's the closest I could get. Assuming they seat us exactly at 7:50, is the service rushed here? Will we still be at our table for Wishes without chewing each forkfull 30 times and otherwise dragging the whole thing out? I'd rather not have to even consider a 'strategy'. Also, I booked by phone and the gal who took the ressie mentioned some sort of dress code, I was busy scribbling the ADR # and didn't quite catch it. Should I rent a Tux?

Thanks,
Bill From PA

The dress code is a joke. It's no swimsuits, cut offs, or offensive clothing allowed. There might be something else I'm forgetting, but basically anything beyond that goes. I usually wear capris and a nicer top, and I've always felt comfortable there.

I have an ADR the same time as you when Wishes is at the same time, and I think that's just about perfect timing. I usually end up getting dessert around the time Wishes starts. I don't rush, but I don't go slower then I usually would on purpose either.

I think your ADR time is perfect!!!

No tux needed, just nice shorts and perhaps a polo. Althouh most adhere to this dress codes some, as pp indicated get in w/o much attention paid.

As for dress, you'll see all kinds of different attire. DH wore jeans and a golf shirt when we went. Most of the people were on the more dressy side the night we went, but I've heard many tales of very casual attire....so I wouldn't be too concerned.

As for the timing, it all comes down to when you're seated. We had a 7:55p back when we went in August and it was about 35 min before we were seated (I've heard a 30 min wait is avg, but I've also met people who were seated early or within 5 min of their time). They definitely do not rush you through your meal. Wishes was at 10p that night and we were being served our dessert just as the lights were being dimmed.

You just need a collared shirt, nice pants, things like that. No tux needed!

Bill: Minus the hat, what you have on in your picture will get you in just fine.

Timing is tough at CG, but seating at 7:50 for a 9:00 Wishes will be fine. In fact, you may still be eating when the show starts rather than finishing too soon...
