Taco Bells - Dorito Loco Taco
Have any of you tried this new item?
While DH and I gave it thumbs down, both DD14 and DS17 gave it big thumbs up. DH and I both thought it was too much Dorito and not enough taco. |

My son who is 9 tried it yesterday and loved it. I tried taking a piece of the shell with meat, lettuce, and cheese and did not like it...
So far based on your experience, it may be an age thing where us adults do not care for it but kids love it.

I'm aged 43 and I am addicted to these things. I do get mine without tomato.

44 & LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE 'em. It was one of those "Why didn't they think of this before?" moments for me when I first heard of it, and again when I first tasted it. For our most recent "taco night" at home, we ate our fixings with Doritos

DH and I tried it on a road trip last month. We never stop at Taco Bell but this thing sucked us in. It was ok, but not worth going out of the way for. We make so many variations of tacos, taco salad, walking tacos at home we don't usually grab Mexican fast food.

I'm typically not a huge Taco Bell fan -- the only thing I like is their Mexican pizza. But... I'm pregnant and this sounds DELICIOUS!!!!
I saw the commercial for it & told DH the only thing that would make it better is if they got rid of the sour cream, didn't put any taco sauce on it & put Kraft's Catalina dressing on it instead. (my mom has a recipe for a taco salad that has ground beef, cheese, Doritos & Catalina dressing... it's delish!!).

The best way I've had it is in the middle of a double decker taco. The Doritos shell added an extra layer of flavor that was quite good, but I don't think I would get it again on its own. I prefer the volcano shell.

I agree, but I thought it was one of the better book to movie adaptations.

I may have to try it in the double decker. It just seemed like as soon as the shell hit the taste buds, the dorito taste was overwelming and you didn't get any taste from the meat, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce. Maybe the beans and soft shell will cut the instant doritos taste.

We tried it and liked it. It's not a new favorite but I'd get it again.
