Have to share w/ those who will understand!

DH is NOT a spontaneous guy. Not even close. He's a planner all the way. We usually sketch out our vacations years in advance. But somehow I convinced him that a "last minute" WDW trip over Memorial Day weekend was just what we need. I still can't believe he agreed!!!

Because our school district did not use any snow days this winter, we have the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before Memorial Day Weekend off of school. And my kids have NO ACTIVITIES that weekend. Not a single lacrosse or softball game. No dance classes. Nothing! We've been hoarding our DVC points. We bought Annual Passes last October for the first time ever. And we can fly on frequent flier miles. So for once we just said, "Screw it! Let's go!"

The kids and I will have to go down ahead of DH by a day or so - and that will be a new thing for us. And we'll try to keep the budget really low. But I'm just so excited for this superfluous trip! To top it off, we're going to surprise the kids - I'll tell them we have to pick DH up from the airport and tell them once we get there. I can capture their excitement on my iphone and share it with DH across the miles.

I know it will be crowded. Don't care! I know it will be hot. Don't care! Travel might be a huge mess. Don't care!! I finally get to take my 8 year old DS to Star Wars Weekends. That will be an absolute zoo. Don't care! Such an unexpected surprise. I can't wait!

Just had to share with people I know will understand my glee!!! Here's to winging it!

You are going to have a wonderful time! Spontaneous visits are complete fun. Keep the spontaneity going and don't over plan anything. Take each day as it comes and eat where you may! LOL.

Safe journey to you and enjoy!

I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?

fun fun fun! How exciting!!!! We are getting APs this year (plan to start em in Dec) but I am hoping it helps us make a few more trips for 2013. Wonder if we will get spontaneous but likely not since I'm already thinking a May and Oct 2013 trip!Probably won't have enough DVC points for spontenaety haha.

I love spontaneous trip - especially to Disney!!

The crowds may not be as bad as you think - we've been around that time before & the big summer crowds haven't hit yet; the actual weekend will be busy, but not too bad the days before.

Have a great time!!

That's awesome and I totally understand. We are saving points to go to Aulani next year and my DH told me to go ahead and book a trip this July. I was not expecting him to want to go into "borrow mode", so I was very surprised. Plus I am the Disney freak and he has always just gone along with my wants and whims. I don't care that it is hot and crowded in July. I am SOOOOO happy to be going.

Easter at Disney!

Love that summer sunshine! VWL in July
